We plugged the biggest hole we've had. We now have a PG who can bring the ball up and initiate the offense and ALSO can shoot the 3 and defend at an all NBA clip. This is huge guys

Nothing changes for me.

I don’t even care who we got or who/what we lost.

Congrats you guys. Love Jrue and love his place on your team. Great player to watch and even better human being to cheer for, somehow. He'll give you Smart-level defense without the antics, as you guys well know!

I'm lol'ing to death that now people are hitting us for "losing depth at center", bad enough that we already lost our "heart and soul" in Smart. I loved Rob to no end but your ceiling can't have a variable on it like that. He was always going to be on the injury report, is what it is unfortunately.

This team is ridiculously stacked and Brad knew the exact moment to pull the trigger. All-in is right now.

Holiday is a perfect plug and play guy.

Still can't believe we kept Pritchard in a Portland trade.

Jrue had one of his best regular seasons in his career last year.

But in the playoffs, he had "Bledsoe-like" efficiency as the Bucks got upset by the Heat.

He's had big moments in the playoffs but also some low ones too.

Warriors fans were interested in trading for him but the only way to justify giving up assets was if they were going to extend him since he has a PO next July.

Warriors likely couldn't extend him so it would be difficult to give up a lot for a likely 1-year rental.

Celtics pretty much have to extend him next year?

Biyombo or Dedmon or Griffin? Please no Whiteside, Boogie, or Dwight.

Obviously, this is bittersweet. I think we all love what Rob brings on the court and we all love his chill, down to earth - just good dude personality off of it. Tatum's close friend.

But at the same time, I don't think it's that crazy if this is how you rank the top 20 players in the NBA for this season:

1 Nikola Jokic
2 Giannis
3 Joel Embiid
4 Jayson Tatum
5 Luka Doncic
6 Steph Curry
7 Kevin Durant
8 Jimmy Butler
9 Devin Booker
10 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
11 Damian Lillard
12 Donovan Mitchell
13 LeBron James
14 Anthony Davis
15 Kawhi Leonard
16. Zion
17. Kyrie
18 Jaylen
19 Jrue
20 Porzingis

This ranking might a little bias. But like I said, I don't think it's that much of a stretch at all if this is your rankings. And we have 4 of the top 20 players. No other team has more than 2 players in the top 20.

1) Small, 5 game sample size.

2) With Giannis injured and Middleton not at 100% (and pretty much washed at this point), Jrue had to be their #2 option..and in many cases was their #1 option.

On the Celtics, he's the 4th option.

3) Pretty much every player is less efficient in the playoffs, since you're facing higher quality opponents, higher quality defenses, and there is much more pressure..plus, you're exhausted after a long regular season..

I also like the part where Wyc and the owners are now pooping money. Good for them. Putting their foot where their mouth is. Or whatever the expression is.

This fireworks-y enough?!

And everyone thinks Brad is a nice guy. Everyone knew Danny was an **** but Brad Stevens does not give a **** about “our guys”

I do wonder if and when the NBA 2K wheeling and dealing will catch up to him though.

Congrats Celtics fans.

Curious....who is the better defender Marcus Smart or Jrue?

Agreed with all of this, especially the bold sentence which is gold. Very well said.

Well, just going by last season, it was:

1. Jrue / D-White (debatable but admittedly I watched the C's play a lot more than i watched the bucks play)
2. Smart
