Yeah, but it was disappointing that KG got outplayed by Gasol when KG was bullying Gasol in 2008.

It's almost like there was a major knee injury in between the 2008 Finals and 2010.

I get that he had a major knee injury the previous year, but 18 to 3 is still very lopsided.

Besides, it was not like the Cs were not leading for majority of that game.

The Cs just needed one final push to get over the hump.

They just couldn't do it and rebounds was the biggest reason why.

Lakers were missing a lot of shots in that Game 7.

Denver didn't really have a dawg last season and they beat Miami 4-1 even when Miami had a couple of dawgs.

mental toughness is also a part of being a dawg. Denver handled the pressure well and came out of the West rolling! This C's group has been bullied and when teams get physical, they tend to get rattled... looking fwd to the "real" season in a few weeks!

True.

We'll see the real season in a few weeks.

Mental toughness comes with age.

So let's see if this is the year.

That Game 7, 2010 Finals is really a horrible memory for me.

Another Lakers vs. Celtics finals this year would be great for everybody.

Let's get serious, man.

It's the Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem podcast. A guy who played his whole career for Miami, just had his number retired by Miami and the other guy played 3 seasons with the Heat (0 seasons with Boston) and won 2 championships with the Heat.

You think they're gonna bring someone on their podcast who's gonna say nice things about the Celtics? Haslem was the one who went viral on social media a few months ago, basically saying that he doesn't give a F about Bill Russell.

Nate Robinson is probably still salty about not getting much playing time in Boston and getting traded after only 2 seasons.

obviously a little salty and clear as day being a Heat podcast lol..... He's just saying what most are thinking!? Do the C's have the mental/physical toughness to get it done! I hope so, should be a fun playoff season! Go C's

Ok, but the 2024 playoffs haven't happened yet. We haven't seen *this* Celtics team in the playoffs yet.

It's unfair to compare *this* celtics team to the Nuggets team *after* the Nuggets won the title. That would be hindsight bias.

A more apples to apples comparison would be comparing *this* celtics team (the 23-24 celtics) to the 22-23 nuggets on 4/11/23. On 4/11/23, did you think Denver had dawgs? Of course not. The 22-23 nuggets had a 3 game losing streak and a 4 game losing streak towards the end of the reg season. They lost 5 out of 6 games late in the reg season...twice.

Also, that Denver team (at least the Jokic/Murray core) had been together since 2016. On 4/11/23, nobody thought they had dawgs, they hadn't really accomplished anything in the playoffs yet. They finally won a ring, with Jokic at age 28 and Murray at age 26.

Meanwhile, Tatum and Brown were were only 25 and 26 during the playoffs last year.

It wasn't until Jokic/Murray were 28 and 26 that they finally got to an NBA finals. Tatum and Brown made the NBA finals when they were only 24 and 25.

No team has won the NBA title while being led by a duo as young as Tatum/Brown were last season since the Sonics in 1979.

I'm not too worried..

Those KG Celtics were notorious for blowing leads, just like with Smart.

It’s about skill and composure. This team has plenty of the former, and has developed the latter IMO. But we shall see over the next few months.

Read on Twitter

The C’s are better and more focused defensively this year and certainly talented enough to win the 2024 NBA championship. But their history has shown us they possess, as well, the ability to mess it up royally.

“The things they do to themselves can be more damaging than what we’re trying to do to them,” one coach who has been on the beneficiary end of the equation in the past told Heavy Sports. “They’re really hard to guard when they space the floor and move the ball and get everyone involved — and they’ve been a lot better at that this year, more consistent. But they can hurt themselves at times, too.”

Slowdown stagnant iso-ball in crunchtime will be the death of us in the postseason if it still continues. Yes, there's movement but only after 12 seconds of clock have expired and only to hunt a mismatch that essentially turns into iso while 4 teammates stand around and watch the ball.

“I really think it’s going to be different for them this year,” he told Heavy. “You’re not going to see Tatum standing there with the ball up top so much. I think it’s going to be Holiday and Derrick White. They’re going to start the offense more.

“I think Brown and Tatum are ready to trust their guys. What the hell, they should be. This is the best team they’ve had since they won it.”

We shall see.

Speaking of Nate Robinson, he has kidney failure and says he desperately needs a new one.

Celtics are 12-11 when grabbing less than 70% of available defensive rebounds. 50-7 otherwise.

Cs are 16-11 when taking less than 44% of their shots from beyond the arc. 46-7 otherwise.

Cs are 7-10 when allowing more than 56.5% effective FG%. 55-8 otherwise.

Actually 8-8, going by basketball-reference's advanced game log, 7-8 if 69.6 is rounded up to 70. Not to get caught up on semantics.

We are 28-1 on the season when our TO% is in between 6.5% and 10%.

26-0 when our TS% is at least .638, 1-12 when it is 54% or lower.

Not to get caught up on the obvious.

We are 23-0 when our assist percentage is in between 65% and 73%, however we are 1-4 when it is at least 73%.

Interestingly, we are 4-5 when our FT% is 69% or lower, versus 13-2 when it is above 89%.

My rebounding numbers were from cleaningtheglass which filters out garbage time possessions.

See yall after the playoffs, once the Celtics steamroll to a title.

There’s nothing to analyze, break down, nerd out about. We know how this team is going to be judged, so they’ll either do it, or won’t lol.

Stick around.

The Melt Down Crew will be serving fine whine after every Celtic loss in the playoffs.

Also suggests reasons as to why we are pretty low on the "passes per game" rankings. Tatum and KP gravity and smart off-ball movements mean we don't need 5-6 passes per possession to create a scoring opportunity.
