OT: 2008 Celtics champ Scot Pollard hospitalized

Upsetting story about how he is now awaiting a heart transplant. I'm hoping he gets one and pulls through.

Probably has this:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8326270/

His new heart will be prone to the exact same thing - end stage HFrEF (heart failure w reduced ejection fraction) as a consequence of cardiomyopathy due to viral myocarditis to which he & his family are at genetic risk for.

I always liked Scot. Shame he got hurt and couldn't contribute more that season, but he was a great locker room guy that year and always full of humor. I enjoyed the weekly show he hosted, Planet Pollard, I think it was called.

Facing a tough road ahead, he still has his humor.

Wow, that's tough. He's only 48, too.
Man, the articled says his whole family has been afflicted.

Prayers that you get it in time, Brother.

Pollard found a donor and has had successful surgery.

I hope this encourages everyone to be an organ donor.

It literally saves lives.

If you would accept a transplant, you need to be willing to be a donor.

So sad she. You think about it. Pollards life is saved, but someone else had to die. It’s a tough thing to deal with mentally for a lot of patients

He's fortunate to still be alive. May he have many more years
