If nothing else, I appreciate the activity of the front office. I’m not sure he plays any more than Banton ever did but hey.

Ok. That's good to know.
He may get a chance off the Bench, here.

Springer is comparable to White in height and wingspan.

Ive been a Springer stan since the draft, that’s why I’m so happy lol.

Ask the Bucks how important good POA defense is, though.

Bargain Bin Suggs.

It's funny you say that. They were in the same draft class, 2021.

Suggs was a consensus top 5 pick. Springer was projected to go mid to late 1st round. But I actually thought Springer had the chance to be the better NBA player. They seemed to be very similar in terms of play style, size, athleticism, etc. Springer was a little bit younger though and shot a much higher 3 FG% in college (43% to 34%).

Suggs in college:

Springer in college:

Looks pretty similar to me..

1) Yes, we certainly got him more for his defense than his shooting. He's basically a nice complement to Pritchard. Pritchard is a shooter but can get abused on D and lacks athleticism. Springer has questionable shooting but is really good on D and has good athleticism.

2) 22% but that's on a really small sample size of only 37 shots.

A larger sample size is the 107 threes he took in the G league last season. He was only 31% on those shots though but he did shoot a respectable 78% on free throws last season in the G League..so no, he's not a shooter. But I don't think he's as bad as 22% would indicate.

Also, (this isn't a huge sample size but it's at least a bigger sample size than the 37 threes he's taken this season) he shot 43.5% from 3 in college in 20-21 season, and 81% on free throws, which are very good numbers..especially since he was only a freshman who played the whole season at age 18.

And he's still only 21..so there's at least some optimism for his shooting potential.

"Springer" means "jumper" in German.

It also the main German word for the chess piece knight. (By way of contrast, the bishop in German is the "Laufer", meaning walker/runner.)

And then, of course, there is the strange story "Spacetime for Springers". http://edsfproject.blogspot.com/2005/12/space-time-for-springers-by-fritz.html

His stats suggest that when he did try something on offense, he was a turnover machine. Is that fair, or is it an illusion because he wasn't trying much in the offense at all?

Long time member/lurker here. Logged in to say how much I love this guys game. This guy is a legit hooper. Don't care much about 3 point percentages and all that. I just see a hooper. He was in the Rico Hines summer run and he obliterated Grady Dick. Like embarrassed him. This guy is very talented.

Check out the video below starting at the 12:20 mark. Fast forward to 15:30 to the part where he destroys Grady Dick.

Yes, he has no offensive skill whatsoever and never figured out what his role was on that end.

But he's a defensive highlight machine. In a real way, not like Thybulle.

How was Thybulle a fake? Gambling rather than solid?

Yes, he gave up a ton of points trying to make the big play. And he couldn't stop anyone.
