will we have any money this offseason to offer a contract to Lonnie Walker?

I still really want him

a bench mob of

Pritchard
Walker
Hauser
Horford
Queta/Kornet

is HIGH quality.

I doubt. We're so far over the cap, I believe all we can do is resign our own players and sign external guys to minimum contracts.

LW4 will likely sign with a different team that can offer him more $ and more playing time.

Only minimums as far as I know.

This off-season priorities in my opinion are:

1. Extend D White
2. Resign Kornet
3. Extend Hauser

If somehow Brad Stevens can pull that off then the off-season is a complete success.

I'd have extend Tatum on there too, but I'm guessing that maybe you just didn't put that because you're thinking it's a formality that it will happen..

Yeah I've been real high on the "hey let's scour the league for back end of the roster guys" the past few summers but I think I'm taking that duty off this year. Just resign the guys and maybe have room for one more random flier.

Agree with all that… I think we need to re sign Tillman as well.

Boston Celtics = Jaden Springer + Picks #30 & #54

for

Trail Blazers == Picks #34 & #40

I think that most of the Band will be back, and some 2nd Round Picks; possibly as Two-Ways.

Queta likely gets Optioned for Next Season, with a Deadline of 6/29/24.
He'd then be Non-Bird eligible at the End of 2024-25?

How does that improve our chances for a title in 2025?

I'm going to throw out a wild trade.
Jaylen for Murray and the 1st Pick in this Draft, if the Celtics don't win the Championship.
I'm thinking of trading away that Pick to one of the poorer teams for a young Big or future Draft Picks.
But any ways, they get out of Jaylen's contract and they re-tool the team after coming up short again...

In this scenario neither us or Denver won the championship?

I think he meant Dejounte Murray + the 1st pick (ATL)
Not Denver's Murray and a 1st round pick. Denver won't bite

Murray would be the 3rd guard on this roster. Trae maybe but no Murray.

Just purely for fun and speculation.

Brown to Atlanta

Trae to SAS

Vassell, Collins, #1 to Boston

Regarding that particular trade, don't think the Hawks do it. Jaylen is too expensive for the first pick in the draft.

Regarding a trade in general, I tend to see it the other way around. Trading Brown becomes MORE likely if the Celtics win banner 18.

Right now, Brown is sacrificing his individual success for the good of the team. He can go along with it, because he's never won an NBA title. If the Celtics fall short, he's still got to win a title, and he'll do it again next year.

But if the Celtics were to win this thing? I will be pleasantly surprised if Jaylen's mindset isn't "I did my time, I got my ring, now I want my own team and to score 30ppg on volume."
