I don't understand how basketball people could come to the conclusion that this is what they should try.

Yeah the massive rationalization porn here is cute - so they chose a bad game plan on defense, that’s why they scored 40 points the first half?

What was the game plan there, let’s try sucking?

At least kudos to Curry for calling it like it was.

When the top six play they way they are supposed to play (I know there was no Porzingis in this game) and either Pritchard or Hauser play well and provide some genuine bench scoring, I feel this team is almost unbeatable.

They are.

The Jays are the new Jordan-Pippen duo.

Very dynamic on offense and solid on defense.

They were trying to be smart hoping Jaylen would shoot a bunch of bricks and our flow would be cooked.

Didn’t work like that at all though.

I had to go back and rewatch some of the 1st as I was distracted with the little one and wasn’t locked in completely.

1Q 5:47 (tied 21-21) to 5:03 (30-21), JB ripped off 9 points that were slacked off on. 44 seconds killed that game.

Incredible.

Mark of an elite team, the abilty to score in bunches while preventing the other team from scoring.

That's my issue with Luka, he scores 30 then he gives that back by playing horrible defense.

Ain't winning chips if you can't defend.

I've been really loving JB more and more this year. The whole Duncan Robinson thing and not backing down from it in the press conference, saying our crowd should boo Jokic and all visiting stars and now this....

That was amazing and so satisfying to watch. I went Jaylen for the nuclear explosion to start the game. The whole team was great though. Special mention to Payton Pritchard. That little dude can ball. Don’t want to see any more mentions of trading him. He deserves that small consideration. I’m even warming up to Jaylens contract. Can’t believe I just said that. But the fact still remains this is a team that has to win it all this year. Or at the very very least make it to the finals against Denver and go seven games in an all-time epic series. It would be a colossal failure to fall short of anything like this this year.

Agree with all if that plus he has really embraced the city of Boston and the people/fans..

Him honouring the memory of murdered promising young hoopster from Boston in Terrance Clarke at the All Star Dunk contest was really moving to me.

Having a teammate who understands Jaylen and his unique personalty and sense of humour in Porzingis has also helped.

The chemistry on our team is as tight/close as it has been under Doc and the 'Ubuntu' concept he brought in 2008.

Joe and Brad have really done a fantastic job unifying this squad and team culture.

Haters will be haters, but Jaylen has been a significant and very important part of our current 11 game win streak and strong season in general.

And his defence lately has really been terrific and hopefully he sustains it, esp for the playoffs.

That's why those expecting JB to get traded after this season will be disappointed.

Cs not trading JB any time soon.

I don't think the strategy was that crazy, Brown is the one possible "weak" link in the Cs shooting offense. But really he's just not so bad that you can leave him wide open.

He's shooting 35% from three for the season, and I assume that number is considerably higher when left wide open.

I'm sure it would've been Smart that would be dared to shoot if the Cs still had Marcus.

If this game felt like a defensive clinic, it's because it was. Celtics recorded their best defensive rating in a game this season against the Warriors yesterday (86.3) and 2nd best in Mazzulla era. I could rewatch that 1st half over and over and not get bored. Outside of the first few minutes, that was playoff defense in full display.

Right. He's an average 3pt shooter when you guard him, not when you leave him wide open lol.

Coming into this game, JB is 17/61 (27.9%) on wide open threes.

Circumstantial.
