You don't have to trust, just watch.

Meaningless game, don't think the guys were motivated.. at all.
Good assessment:

It's a statement win apparently. The truth is that there hasn't been a single BOS-MIL game this year where Boston had any extra motivation to win, but MIL has been in a dogfight the whole way along.

I hope we see them full health in the playoffs. It will be very different than facing us with huge leads in the standings or top seeding locked up.

their about to get bounced by Philly in rd 1, "Fear The Dear" or "Trust The Process" ?! C's treated this game like a scrimmage man, lets get the playoffs going! BOOM

Of course they didn't take the game seriously, particularly Brown. If they had some self-respect they would have.

It's called being smart.

Not showing your hand, so to speak, less than 2 weeks away from the playoffs is just being wise.

As always Curm, they are cooked and won’t do anything this year.

We are all here with you mate.

I'm about to bet $20 they don't even make the playoffs they are so bad. Biggest loss in Celtics history, shameful.

better off tanking at this point and taking that end-of-the-lottery pick, honestly. The next Romeo Langford or Aaron Nesmith would do way more for this team in their quest to win an NBA championship than winning an NBA championship.

I’m not the most optimistic about raising another banner, I think there have been some at least orange flags this season that raise concern but yeah, I didn’t even bother turning this one on. I watched the other Celtics instead. This one didn’t mean or tell you anything imo.

Watching Lopez come out and hit a bunch of 30 foot 3's at the start of the game made me have a very fascinating 30 second long convention with myself about how much confidence and mood can impact performance haha.

I mean I dunno maybe I'm making the whole thing up but Brook has struggled against us in several recent games and last night I got the feeling he saw KP and Horford were out and got really excited about his opportunity to not get played off the floor by those guys. The funny thing is KP or Horf wouldn't have done anything about those 3's either but it seemed like Brook's confidence was through the roof simply due to not having them around.

On a related note there was absolutely no reason to "show them " anything last night as far as schemes and what we'll do in a possible playoff matchup. Which is why I think we held both KP and Horf out in the first place. They change the matchup significantly.

Would showing some effort on defense have given anything away?

Who knows what confidence does to a player but Lopez has played very well against us all season. He's shooting like 62% in 4 games, over 50% from the three. In his worst game against us he got 8 points on 5 shots and 2 FTs.
