I remember the melts the 2009-2010 Celtics caused amongst Celtics fans with how garbage they were heading into the playoffs that season.

And that was with the wildly competitive KG out there every night.

My recollection of the KG-era Celtics is that they were notorious for coasting in the regular season (after KG's injury) maybe someone installed some false memories into my mind but the complaints in that regard ring a little hollow. With that said, as a fan, I don't like closing the regular season this way. People are investing their time and money into watching the games, so if they're not gonna try to win, then I wish they'd just sit the starters personally.

The only ones I feel bad for are fans going to their first ever game.

This is simply how the NBA is in April. It’s not limited to Boston.

I’ve been done with this regular season for weeks. Completely bored of it.
