Should we Lock Threads, even w/o glitches, & keep the Wall of Shame?
Years ago, this site used to have glitches, when Threads went over 100 pages. But, this hasn't been an issue for awhile now.
In fact, the GB has been letting Threads go for 200, 300 and 400+ pages, without (site) issues.
This brings us to the Celtics Board famed "Wall of Shame". -- If we don't lock posts, then there will be no Wall of Shame list.
So, we're Polling the General Members.
Q: Should we lock Threads at a particular number of pages? 100, 200, 300, 400, or not lock them at all?
That's the jist of the Poll. Please Vote and Comment.
Thank You,
~ Parl

I voted 100, but don't care if mods would rather not bother

I never get into those Wall of Shame things anyway, so I don't really care either way.

The thread closings causes several kinds of inconvenience. I'd be happy for them to stop.
Just please be careful in naming any new, more permanent ones.

Re: Should we Lock Threads, even w/o glitches, & keep the Wall of Shame?
me thinking about making a Wall of Shame every now and then:
I'm going to vote to keep it 100, but am fine with whatever -- including on having less work for mods. Often it's good to keep things simple and evolve with the times.
But: is there ANYTHING more 'RealGM' than burning through all 100 pages of a summer trade/FA thread in one night?
Let's figure this out, so we know whether we'll have 7 'summer FA/trade' threads pining for Lonnie Walker IV, or just one behemoth one.

Can we get this thread to 100 pages???
In all seriousness though we talked about it and whatever people want is what we'll do. So please don't just comment and make sure you vote so we can just go off the poll and make the masses happy.

I abstained from voting but I like the walls of shame, and starting a new thread 100 so my bad takes can be lost to all but the most intrepid explorers of history.

I reckon it should depend on the thread. I kinda think player threads should be left open as it would be nice to see all the history in the one thread. Same for coach and brad thread.
Other threads like around the league, trade draft etc maybe keep at 100.

I've never made a wall of shame but I still voted to lock at 100 to keep them, just kind of fun. Plus without the wall of shame what the hell will fierce1 strive for?

Looks like the Consensus is to keep Most Threads at 100 pages. And have some special ones go over.
I.e.: The Game Thread can go over.
We've built up a pretty good Tradition on the Celtics Forum; with the Wall of Shame, and so forth.
So, we'll keep it at 100. Going over, at Mods' Descretion.

Pop up ads and trying to post in a thread that was closed already because it hit 100 pages are the two most annoying facets of this site.
Don't lock them, there's just no benefit to doing it, and it is just easier if you don't.
