I would much rather have cassell but i won't complain if we bring in Damon. We really need a natural pg....

I don't believe Ainge has any interest in Damon Stoudamire but we will see. Jammer has it right, everyone talks about getting new players but where will the minutes come from on this team.

This team has a 32-6 record with good chemistry and players knowing their roles. Stoudamire has already said he wants to go somewhere where he can play. Who sits if he plays 20-25 minutes a game? TA, House, Rondo, Posey?

I could be wrong but I don't see it happening.

I'm not a big fan of Gabe Pruitt. But I'd much rather just give him run over mighty mouse.

Gabe can defend AND handle the ball, his shot can end up streaky.

So in my mind, Stoud can defend and is a veterant. Either one can help us just as much with Stoud possibly moreso in the playoffs depending on Pruitt's mindset.

I think you wait on a guy like Mighty Mouse and see if there are any other options out there.

He may not be much better of an option for this team then Boykins if Tony Allen doesn't take a strong returning as a penetrator on the second unit and our scorer. If he doesn't Boykins will be able to fill that role enough and bring the ball across half court.

If this is the best we can do for backup PG we're better off just sticking with the House/TA duo and letting Gabe develop.

The talk of bringing BOTH Sam and Damon onboard makes no sense at all. We're already way over the cap and I'd rather add a big to this team with the 15th spot anyhow. If we had Damon, Sam, Gabe, Rajon, and Eddie all on this team, that's 1/3 of your roster that's 6'3" or under with TA at 6'4".

That celticsblog article is a joke. Ooh, off court issues.... Remember when Tony Allen was accused of having some dude gunned down? We all love Posey, but read up on his past transgressions. He was convicted of drunk driving just this summer. Get over it, it's basketball not boy-scouts. Apparently Stoudemire has been a positive mentor for Conley and Lowry in Memphis, and would likely be a positive influence on Rondo as well. That celticsblog site has really gone down hill lately and is way too preachy for my tastes. Instead of reporting on something new, they tend to just give you happy-go-lucky opinion pieces.

Actually he never played with Ray Allen. They were traded for each other.

Ray Allen was in Milwaukee from the start of his career until mid-way thru the 2003 season.

Sam arrived in Milwaukee in the middle of the 1999-2000 season, and left Milwaukee at the end of the 2003 season to go to Minnesota, where he spent the next two seasons playing alongside KG.

stouemire is essentially free while cassell would require us to give up something. I'm not sure danny really wants stoudemire but you have to consider him. he can handle the bal and hit the three and keep the offense moving

If anyone actually believes that Celticsblog babble about Mighty Mouse being a bad guy, watch this video, it'll change your mind.

He's pretty much devoted himself to helping Conley become a better player and understands his role 100%.

If Ainge felt a strong need for an undersized 34 year old point guard who can't play defense or pass he would have already signed Payton who is at least familiar with Boston.
I don't see mighty mouse passing the owners code of conduct.
I'd guess that there was a greater possibility of a trade for Cassel involving Powe, Allen and whomever.

PF is for PacerFan, a recently deceased moderator on the Pacer Board.

There is an article about him on the front page of RealGM (lower right).

This would be a great signing. Then if we could add Webber we would be lookin at number 17 in the rafters.

Thank you, I'm sorry I didn't mean any disrespect at all. I almost never go to the front page so i was curious. Thank you for letting me know, I'll keep his family in my prayers from now on.

I don't really understand why there are so many people who are hating on Damon's game. He reminds me of Kenny Anderson when he was with the Celtics. I actually really liked Kenny's game and he was a real key for the offense with the Pierce/Walker duo. I can envision Damon really being able to successfully key the offense for the second unit when Rondo is out of the game. I think a backcourt rotation of Rondo, Ray, Tony, Eddie, and Damon is super, super solid. The only question I really have about bringing him in is Doc's ability to make a solid rotation. If bringing him in means more of Posey at the 4 spot than it's a definite no for me. Even if Damon is simply insurance as a third PG I think that's fine as well. My feeling is that House could be limited in the playoffs (when teams gameplan to stop him and pressure him fullcourt) and at that point Damon could be really valuable. I'd also prefer Cassell but I really see no reason to believe the C's will get him. And I'd rather not rely on a second and first year PG to lead this team in the playoffs.
