I think Gerald will want to play for a team that is bad and doesn't have an abundance of small forwards. Maybe New York will give him a call.

HMMM. I want to take a pat on the back here.

Never a fan of G-Money and had countless arguments about him.

The first one being that he wasn't an explosive despite having ridiculous hops. The second problem is he played the game like Dell Curry. He would hang out at the 3 and just shoot a semi set shot.

Green never showed an ability to get to the basket and finish. He never could dunk ON someone or in traffic. Pierce and Allen are much more explosive and powerful.

Essentially, his skill set is the exact opposite of his athletic ability. He was a flat footed jump shooter with ridiculous hops and no handle.

What kind of player is that?

I admit it I was excited to get him on draft day. After he was listed in the top 5 of every mock how could you not be.

Yeah, if you like. But others aren't played for three teams in three years and then being waived. Now don't get too overdefensive.

only because your GM isnt smart enough to trade off assets when their stock is highest. and its 3 teams in ONE year, get his journey straight, itll be folklore in due time.

Well, he helped us get KG, so I am not complaining here...This is the part I will remember about him...He at least at that point had some value and that is all that matters...

I think we can agree that Gerald is a sloooow study in BB, even if we have different speculation as to the reasons. Signing him for a fraction of a season doesn't seem like a good investment.

Banks is doing quite well in Miami. They aren't winning games but he's getting minutes and being productive. Banks can get his own shot anywhere on the court, Green cannot. Banks can defend the PG whereas Green was always lost in his assignment.
I think Banks will be in the league for at least a few more years. Gerald is DONE.

Well, Marcus in part got us a #1 pick from Minnesota, which we traded back to Minnesota in the KG trade. I'm sure that #1 pick was every bit as big a part of the trade as Gerald was.

Plus Banks was picked by DA after about 2 weeks on the job...hard to blame Ainge for that.

What I find interesting is that the 2 guys Ainge drafted that don't seem to have what it takes both seemingly lack mental comprehension (three if you count Orien Greene)....and sometimes I think Tony Allen is a near miss.

Which reminds me that i haven't heard much about the brain doctor recently.

Perhaps Ainge only picked Green because he bought the hype? And ever since then, he has gone with his own feelings.

Let's hope Wally ****ing Szczerbiak doesn't come back to haunt the Celtics. Not sure why Wally gets so much grief. his injuries were due to hustle and you could argue he would be just as effective as Ray Allen is on this team.

Haha, I remember how many people were crying over the KG deal because Green was added in and that was just "too much". HAHAHAHAHA!

I never cared for Gerald. Never got the vibe from him that being part of a team was important. Always seemed distracted with being flashy and trying to get his name mentioned on Sportscenter.

During that 2005 draft I was hoping Bird would take Green when it was Indy's pick. He took Granger, who was already a man and obviously Bird saw that.
I wonder why Danny took the bait on the dropping Green and left Warrick to be picked after Green.
I might have rolled the dice on a kid who spent FOUR years with Jim Boeheim over a falling HS phenomena. Hindsight being 20/20 that is...
