congratulations boston - pierce stepped up (who knew he still had a game like that in him) and your role players did their jobs - especially PJ Brown, who saved the game for you down the stretch, and House, who gave you a nice energy boost in the first half.

Good luck the rest of the way - you're in for another battle against Detroit. I don't know of KG can keep going this many minutes every other night for another 2 weeks.

Congrats Boston, I'm shocked that it had to take 7 games to eliminate two teams that are no where near the Celts talent-wise, but I still believe Boston will represent the Eastern Conference in the championship. Detroit has heart, they are savy, but are overrated. Some people expect this to be hard, but I see Detroit as Boston's easiest series thus far.

The Lakers Big 3 and role players are better than Boston's (Gasol > KG, Odom > RayRay, Kobe > PP) so I don't foresee a championship this season for you guys, but I wish you luck going forward. You guys have some great fans and it's great to see the Celtics relevant again.

Garnett is much better than Gasol, if you go by positions which is most important

KG>Gasol
PP>Odom
Kobe>>Ray

It doesn't matter how you mix and match. Gasol, Odom and Kobe are greater than KG, PP and Ray. It's not even close right now as to which three I would take.

KG and Gasol are close, but if I had to choose between them for my team right now I'd choose Gasol, period.

Odom is better than PP right now. No need to discuss Kobe.

Well, defense wins championships and the Celtics are the best in the league. Whichever team defends the best will win.

Wait. What?

Not sure how this Lakers crap happened to be on this thread or at this moment, but the Celtics are not in the finals yet. The Lakers aren't either. This conversation makes absolute no sense.

I don't want to digress away from the victory cigar but it is not crazy at all to say the Lakers Big 3 is greater than Boston's. Really I don't know how anyone could disagree with that.

Good luck to you and enjoy your offseason obviously you are still suffering from the shock of the loss.

Back to what happened today. That was Pierce's moment in time, I hope he has two or three more and he isn't simply remembered for staring down Lebron, but that was his signature moment and you have to get the Cigar for that, but thank god PJ dragged his old bones out there and that is were our real issue is.

Talking about talent is silly business. The Pistons don't have half of the talent of the Magic but owned them. The Spurs have never had more talent than the opposition they simply survive the battle with toughness and execution. Talking about how many games it takes to win a series is just as silly, it doesn't mean anything. The Celtics have enough talent to win and games like today reveal that they have the character win.

What they don't have is depth especially upfront. That will be less of an issue against DET than it was against CLE but somebody has got to get some easy buckets inside of 8 ft.

Pierce won my vote after that jump ball when he got control of the ball and called that timely time out. Many superstars explode and shoot the lights out. But how many put their bodies on the line in a hustle play like that?

This game was all Paul's.

Gasol better than KG? If KG was in Pau's place the Lakers would already have the championship locked up. Theyre not even close.

Anyone who voted for someone that was not paul pierce you will be banned for pierce hating as soon as I surmise your identity (JK) as for KG or Gasol not a single GM in the league would even think about trading KG for Gasol straight up, Gasol is good borderline very good, KG is very good borderline great.

PJ was great, but there should only be one choice: Paul Pierce.

I imagine he'll explode against Detroit. No one on the Piston's roster can contain P2 like Lebron did.
