Of course I knew that.....the playoffs are not what I am talking about here.....I am talking about the type of play it took for the team to get the 1st seed in the strongest western conference in history. This does not even take into consideration what he has done in the playoffs.......

Waiting this long for game one is unbearable. But, I am glad the Cs have nearly a week off. Should help negate all the extra games played.

If you forgot some of your Lakers/Celtics history and want to brush up on it, ESPN Classic is going to have a marathon starting Monday.

Here's the schedule:

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

the Lakers ball washing going on in the national media is amazing.

The whole 'no respect' thing from teams usually seems contrived, but the Celts have a legit reason to play that card. Almost no one is giving the Celtics a chance despite having the best season and now winning on the road.

I think I will just skip the build up.. I thought there was supposed to be the east coast bias? The articles (see Doyle at NBC for a start) are just awful!

Doubt I dropped by here already, but thanks for advancing to the Finals. We're about to restart one of the greatest rivalries in professional sports, and I'm stoked! Well here's to a hell of a series! Congrats on your success so far and I look forward to Game 1 at the Garden. Here's to beautiful basketball! :D

Lol! Why is Phil a cheater, or is it the latter part that you don't want Red's record broken?

Great game thread! Having flashbacks of Kareem, Magic, & Worthy vs. Parrish, Bird, & McHale. Hopefully we can add to the history. Looking forward to it except I have 2 say BEAT BOSTON! LOL

Phil might be considered a cheater for accolades. Every team he's led far has had a lot of talent. He's never taken a bad team anywhere.
My Starting 5:

PG: Allen Iverson
SG: Paul Pierce
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Patrick Ewing

Come on man, check your fact. Red had all the talent when he won his titles. The Lakers were the only competition he had. Phil deserves credit for 2 reasons. 1. When he took over the Bulls & Lakers reguardless of the talent that was there, they never won a title until he arrived. He was willing to comback to the Lakers after being kicked to the curb then returned -Shaq. The only big trade in these past 3 1/2 years was Gasol other than that the draft pics worked out & Phil get credit for helping these guys reach their potential. You have to take off your Green & White shades on this 1 & re-think what you are saying. In Red's era it might have been different if we had Wilt in his prime to go with the other players but we didn't. The Celtics had a stacked team (Look how many are in the HOF & jersey's are retired)
