Not hurt, he had no legs and never got a rhythm.

I still can't believe we lost after being up 5. It somehow feels like losing to the Knicks.

the sequence when rondo came back in for house was when the game got away

house on the floor opens the paint up for kg, and our offense went to **** when rondo came in and they played off him

perkins let gasol in for 2 offensive boards that we just couldn't recover from during that stretch also

Kobe got into the paint more in this game than he in the 4 previous meetings of the two teams i would venture to say, and that's the difference

Pierce had a horrible game, KG had a horrible game

smart switch by jackson to put kobe on rondo as well, i hate phil jackson
the celtics got the lakers int he penalty qith about a minute and a half to go in the first quarter, and i don;t think they were ever in the penalty again, tough break

Good game C's neither team played well. It'll be interesting to see what happens if we both play well Thursday

No plays for Ray? He was the only one who could shoot looking at the box score.

Rondo's lack of effectiveness led to Celtics breaking down on offense.

Rondo didn't have the chance to be effective in the 2nd half. When he came back, either he was hurting, or he was under instruction - and very poor instruction at that - to give the ball off to PP or Ray and let them do the rest

It seems that Doc doesn't have a firm grasp of cause and effect. Oh well, we'll win at least one here and finish it in Boston.

We can beat this team next game -- and the game after that. Gasol and Odom have been terrible, and even if one of them shows up in Game 4, Vujabitch won't.

WE ARE BETTER THAN THE LAKERS.

Were Paul and KG 8-36 or did I see it wrong?

This pattern repeats itself game after game. Some posters do not like it, but the Celts play best when Rondo has the ball in his hands.

That double was so far out near midcourt and so passive that it made life easy on the Lakers. They gave the Lakers time to set up their offensive set and all it took was two passes for a wide open three.

There's a way to play defense that's a happy medium in between doubling at midcourt and not running any help at all, even after its clear that there's an up and under move in progress.

I take back by curse words on Eddie's shot. It was a decent look - even though there was still time to try to get the ball in one of the Big Three's hands. This one was lost when (in order) KG and PP came into the game in the fourth quarter and had three bad possessions each. They were too hyper and didn't get settled back in the offense.

Nah, Eddie isn't a PG, Rondo just wasn't effective. He has to make those shots. He never got in the lane much today. If only Sam freakin Cassell would stop being so shot happy. He is exactly what the team needs.

Wrong, IMO. The sequence where are offense fell apart was when House was in and we were successful. Our defense and halftime planning allowed that. But the lack of a true PG meant a reliance on the big 3 handling the ball, and got our team out of the habit of making good passes. House @ PG was not going to work for the entire half, especially because they began to pressure him and it allowed them to begin setting the tone of the game on both ends. When Rondo came in, what simply sealed the deal is our offense continued to operate exactly the same as it would have as if House had stayed in the game. Thats Doc's fault one way or the other because if Rondo wasn't capable of playing like himself Cassell should have been in, and if Rondo was capable he needed to call a quick timeout to make sure our guys changed things up.

If Pierce has even an average night (say 17 points) we have this series iced.

This was a weird game. Rondo got stuck on Kobe so much early because we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and you have to pick up the guy who was guarding when you head back in transition after a miss.

Then we play better with House? I like House a lot, but he's not better than Rondo. Not usually. And it was strange down the stretch. I actually think with Paul and KG having such stinkers, it made some sense to keep Eddie in. I don't want to see Sam. I'd rather see Eddie miss 3 shots than one of Sam's, because House hits the open guy when he's there and Sam doesn't. Eddie also HUSTLES on both ends of the court.

The Lakers deserved this win, period. Both teams played scrappy defense, which in turn led to lousy offensive basketball. The Lakers' defense looked a bit tighter than the Celtics' (they took both Pierce and Garnett out of their games) and that was probably the key to the game.

That being said, is this how great the Lakers play at home when they are amped and in dire need of a win? The Celtics could have easily run away with this game had they turned it up just a notch, or even by just hitting a couple more free throws. They now have two more chances of stealing one

We play like crap. -12 on free throws. and we lose by six.

I think I am confident we close this out. We win at least one in LA.

Doc should double Kobe every possession and let Odom/Walton/Fisher beat them. It seems like without Kobe's spurts to energize the team, the Lakers are no better than the Grizzlies. Odom/Walton/Fisher are all very very erratic and they either miss open shots or take dumb ones to ignite a Boston run.

Oh and why won't they feed KG more? It's not like the softness of Gasol or the defenseless Odom could stop him. KG needs to beat Gasol off the dribble and smash one over the spaniard's head. Perkins needs to stop picking up cheap fouls and Pierce should isolate more on Walton.

Bos in 5.
