Man, I didn't know it was Doc River's fathers birthday today. It would be great if we can win it for him!

Let's go Celtics!!!!!!!!!!

If Pierce decides to stand around and pass the ball and shoot a 3 pointer here and there to start the game like he did in game 5, I will smash something real quick.

It took two 20pt leads [games 4 & 5] for him to realise he needs to be aggressive. Hopefully he can come out the gates hard and not look back!

Our crowd is louder 30 mins before game time than LA's was at the conclusion of the 4th.

I feel good about this one. KG and Rondo are both likely to get the memo about aggression, and when they're on, the Cs will outwork the Lakers.

I'm not as optimistic about Perk, although it's not as if his arms are the best part of his game anyway.

Time to close this out, more important then exiting the first quarter with the lead is exiting the first quarter without foul trouble, lets take it to them, get them in foul trouble play Smart D without fouling and play hard.

Lets win this tonight GREEN 17 BABY

Does your local broadcast network show a pregame and the game for the nba finals or just the pregame?

Doc is wearing a suit and tie that one might wear to a funeral.

That HAS to be a reference to his late Dad.

Albin wrote:Since there were some comments about the Rush show - I was at the Rush concert on Sunday night - and it totally killed me to miss watching the game. I did have streaming scores to my phone, so I knew what was happening and when. I was also (fairly) certain the C's would win it in 6, so I rolled the bones and went to the show. I was rooting for the C's to win in five, but I do admit, there is part of me that really wanted it to come back to Boston so I wouldn't miss watching the game.

Some interesting tidbits about the evening :
  • There was a "Beat L.A." chant from the crowd before the show even started.
  • Celtics shirts were everywhere.
  • When Geddy first addressed the crowd, he thanked us for being there because "I think there is something else going on tonight with one of your sports teams <cheering> ... it's your Lacrosse team, I think.. <cheering, laughter>"
  • During halftime, Rush was playing 2112 and Tom Sawyer.
  • After coming out after their intermission - Geddy Lee said they decided to name the second half of their show "Beat L.A. - I'm not sure why."
  • They often have strange things on stage.. for this tour, there were three rotisserie machines turning chickens, and a "chef" comes out at one point during the show to examine the chickens. When the guy came out, he was wearing a Paul Pierce jersey.
  • During the encore - Geddy came out wearing a "Beat L.A." t-shirt.
  • After the game, many, many fans stayed in the parking lot with all radios tuned to Max and Grande and we heard all of the fourth quarter. I was in a group of about seven people myself, all listening to the game.

Rush is my all-time favorite band... My first Rush show was sometime around 1986... we know what else happened that year. I have been to somewhere around 30 rush concerts. My next one is in Saratoga, NY in early July.

That's AWESOME man! I saw Rush last summer, and caught every tour since Vapor Trails (okay, I'm a young'un. I got into Rush during my junior year of high school...by that time the Test for Echo tour was already over, and they weren't going to tour again until 2002, but who knew), but didn't have the cash to go to the show last Sunday. Ah well.

The Celtics are aggressive early so far. I like it! Weren't they already down by 15 at this point last two games?

Jeez, friggin' Kobe.

Oh well, he's not gonna hit every three. Let him shut his own teammates down.

It's nice that Kobe is taking long threes and it sucks that he's making them.

Return to Boston Celtics
