Tony Allen's Dunk

Post#1 » by return2glory » Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:49 pm

Does anyone have a clip of TA's alley oop, reverse dunk? That wasd the highest I've seen Tony get up in nearly 2 years.

I believe it was game 4 that TA was finally playing without the knee brace. He went with a sleave instead. TA is getting healthy again and I what him back. He brings a lot to this team. His defense, ability to drive to the basket, his ability to creat shots, and passion for the game are welcomes to this team IMO.

He just has to work on that jump shot. It's worse than Rondo's.

yeah that was sick

i wish they did super slow motion of that, even though i understand why they didn't

the best dunk I've seen from tony since he flew down the lane with reckless abandon last year against denver at home

i was at that game, and it was ridiculous

Agreed, I watched him in warmups during the entire playoffs and I dont remember seeing him make one jumpshot, they all went off the side of the rim.

Ehhh, he's never been a good shooter. But as we all saw for that brief stint before he hurt his knee last year, when he's healthy he can still be a dominant player.

Tony Allen's style of play is almost the opposite of Ray Allen's. The perfect change of pace guard to have off the bench. He'll be better next year. Remember the Tony Allen from his sophomore summer league? That should be the guy that we get next year. I think he knows he's going to have to work hard for playing time with Ray, Paul, and Posey in front of him, so I expect him to improve upon both his jumpshot and dribbling over the offseason.

That dunk convinced me, Tony needs to come back next season. He could be HUGE off the bench, especially if Posey gets a big contract somewhere. I think Tony is back, you could see in games 5 and 6 he had his explosiveness back. An offseason of BASKETBALL instead of rehab should do wonders for the kid!

Danny will work to keep the whole group as a whole back together, Posey too I would assume.... 8-)

I'm very happy that Tony Allen got his moments in the finals. He was one of our boys for a while now and was a good soldier even when he was collecting DNPs.

I watched the Celtics beat the lakers in december at staples rondo didnt play that game, so they had Tony Allen at the pg. For a guy with surgery done to his leg, he's really quick. He was taking alot of the laker players off the dribble and just taking it to the basket. When he played in game 5 I saw him do it to kobe on a couple of occassions Im suprised doc didnt put him in longer but I guess his bad jumpshot is the reason why.

I hope TA comes back. I like him as a 1/2 on this team in certain situations. As I have said before he might make some bad plays but he makes good ones as well. He is more talented then alot of teams bench players, IMHO. Hell I take him over most of LA's bench players or even their starter Vlad Rad.

He is too small to be a Posey replacement. Posey value comes from the fact he is 6'8" (legit) with crazy long arms. TA needs to just concentrate on his ball handling skills and shooting so he can get time at the 2 spot (behind RA) and the one spot (behind Rondo and House)..

I love Tony Allen. He is a very unique player. Sure he has some flaws, but they are very much outweighed by the positives he can bring. He's got talent, skill, drive and way more BBIQ than people give him credit for. I also think that, if healthy, he will be invaluable if either Paul or Ray go down for a stretch next season.

Come on back, Tony!!!

I miss when Tony use to throw down those hammer dunks. It was good to see him get one last night. We need him back next season.
