If Sam wants to stick around and accept a role as an assistant coach, sure. Otherwise, I can live without him on the team.

I know Russell and Tommy did!!
Sam Jones probably did too. He certainly won one his last season, and his rookie season was surely somewhere during the long string.

^^Actually I believe Sam Jones was a rookie in 1957-58, which is the year Russell sprained his ankle in the Finals and they lost to the Hawks. The nest year they started on the 8-year run.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
