How does a JO to Toronto thread turn into a discussion of a Bucks back up point guard?

Just asking

that Bucks back up point guard, in the eyes of many passed up their starting pg-------- its all my doing.

the discussion turning into this is very illogical, good question .

Great move for Toronto. Yeah, J.O. is injury prone, but so is Ford so that works out to something of a wash. And fact is, when healthy, J.O. is one of the elite bigs in the game. He's no KG/Duncan, but other than those two guys there isn't another PF in the NBA that is definitively better than a healthy, motivated J.O. He also can play center very effectively, and hence adds nice versatility.

Lets compare Bogut with Perkins (the one who now has a ring)

Bogut 35 mpg FGA 12 Pts 14 rbs 10 blk 1.7 Draft picked #1 overall 2005
Perk 24.5 mpg FGA 4.5 Pts 7 rbs 6 blk 1.5 Draft 27th in 2003

So with a 2/3 less attempts Perk has only 1/2 as many pts. If you adjust the min he probably has as many rebounds per game (and Perk actually plays defense). With one of the premier shot blockers next to him he still averaged the same number of blocks as Bogut.

I have no illusions about who and what Perk is. Bogut is actually very comparable to him, but you think hes going to be a great player. I hope you are right, but the numbers don't really make your case for you.

Well, if Bogut plays a full year like he did after the All Star Game, he's in for a very good season, especially if Skiles gets him to play more D than swatting shots off the ball. After the ASG, he averaged:

16.3 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 2.8 APG (2.5 TO), 1 SPG, 1.7 BPG, 51.1% FG

He improved in basically every category as the season went on except for blocks. With a crop of weak centers in the East outside of Howard, Bogut might very well be the 2nd-best C in the east. Worthy of his #1 pick? I think he needs to give more than 16 PPG to prove that, but he's on his way at age 23.

So far from this thread I now understand,JOsucks,Bogut sucks, Ford who cares and MIL will take the title next year. MIL will do this with a backup PG. Who knew all of this before today?

I'll give that Ramon Sessions is currently a better player than GG, and probably good enough to be a starter next season. I'll give that Bogut is decent. And a new coach can only help. But I'll also give that Charlie V sucks, Desmond Mason sucks, and overall the Bucks lack depth behind Michael Redd who is not even extremely close to being an elite player in this league.

Thats all besides the point though. Yeah Ford isn't all that much better than what Indy could have drafted in a previous year. Who cares.

^^Well they have Richard Jefferson now so who knows? Still a mediocre team.

Redd is super overrated...a less skilled, less-all-around player version of Ray Allen.

The only thing Allen and Redd have in common is their stroke. that is where it ends.

I love TJ but those injuries worry the hell out of me. Good deal for Toronto.

So every year when I go to Montreal they speak in french automatically by accident?

So anyway you live in the sticks of MIL. Now that makes sense. What were you trying to say in the previous post? I just have to know now.

Hey Genius! Montreal is in Quebec.

So is this trade off now?

If so, Indy looks good right now, Toronto drafted Rafael Araujo part II (IMO). Or if it is still on, maybe Jim O'brien gets Mark Blount part II. Or maybe Hibbert 'll prove me wrong
