Boston Celtics Select JR Giddens at #30

Post#1 » by Spin Move » Fri Jun 27, 2008 2:34 am

Discuss, I myself am very disapointed, Deandre Jordan, Mario Chalmers, Bill Walker all would have been better picks IMOP Giddens is not nearly as good a prospect on the wings as Walker. However Danny probably knows better then me. Giddens has alot of tools, but he got booted out of kansas for a reason.

Giddens can ball for sure, but how do you take him over Bill "Sky" Walker? I mean come on! That guy is a freak.

Don't we already have a combo guard named Gabe?

I'm just hoping that that long delay before the pick is a sign that this was trade. He's a good defensive SG but he's horrible value considering who else was on the board. I wish we would have gone Jordan instead. We need at least one more player over 6'10 on the roster.

there are plenty of bigs in free agency I don't think it's a big deal to get one in this draft. We picked a guy that will rarely play and has potential to fill a role that Tony Allen couldn't.

Looks like our rotational players will come from free-agency.

Here's the list of available SG that were measured at Orlando by reach.

Gidden's at the top.

Well let's hope he works out better then Banks - another mountain conference stud.. Walker sounded pretty exciting though. I am surprised we went with Giddens.

Well, if anyone can pull it, check out his last game. 1st round NIT at Cal. He was awesome.

I am not a fan of the pick, but I am a fan of the player. He's really good. Probably means TA is gone though, which I do not like.

Think McHale and Ainge might've swapped 30 and 31? It'd make more sense for the Celts to take Pekovic.

The guy is a huge talent, it could end up being a good pick. High risk, high reward. And i dont think CDR will be a great NBA player. I think Walker's knees may have scared us. I also think all the maturity on this franchise may scare him straight.

Why not Deandre? We could use a backup C
