it will be a HUGE mistake if we dont bring back posey. he was one of the most important players this year for us. w/o him, there's no way we win the title.

we HAVE to bring him back, whatever it takes. maggette would be nice, but he's not a 2-time nba champion, solid hustle & specialist player like posey is.

posey is great!!!! PLEASE BRING BIG JAMES BACKKK!!!!

I disagree completely with the idea that we can't win a title without Posey. He was a nice player for our team, but let's not get carried away here.....last I checked, KG/PP/RA will still be here, and to me that trio, along with Perkins, Rondo, and the 2-3 title chasing vets who will be brought in is more than enough to make us favorites to repeat.

Posey is a very solid roleplayer. But let's not lose sight of the fact the year before we got him the heat went 44-38 and he didn't have much more value then the 10ppg good defensive roleplayer that he is. He is basically a one trick pony on O. Hey it's a nice trick...but come on.

The C's don't believe his contributions merit the full MLE. That's likely what Posey wants and I tend to agree with them. The key last year was that Danny wasn't so much the specifics - but that Danny was able to get very good value with his free agents signings. By picking guys coming from mediocre teams that weren't "sexy" (that is young with big upside playing glamour postions) he was able to maximize his very limited free agent dollars.

The element of luck in our winning a championship isn't lost on Danny and I think he looks to bolster the team not just sit pat and overspend on our free agent bench..

If he wants to got there, then peace out. James was nice but a healthy TA or Magette can give us the same contribution, if not more. Nothing is worse than overpaying for some greedy SOB and getting locked into a long-term deal with a player who will NOT get ANY BETTER.

Exactly! He's good, but I don't like the fact that he's trying to leverage other teams in order to induce the Celtics to pay up. Quite the sheisty move, and I doubt Danny will pony up the full MLE.

Excuse me for trolling  , but you won't come either !

Hey you, why do you hate the Lakers ?! You have 17 titles, we have 14, 9 as LA Lakers ! And there are 10 times more Celtics fans who hate the Lakers ! Or maybe you wish you could win it all during the 80s ?! "Mai puneti-va pofta in cui !" That's too much for a city with a great team, but with many uneducated fans ! Excuse me !

So tell me, Boston fans with plenty of hate, why do you hate the LAKERS ?

That's just interesting to me !

Agreed. Rivalries between players sort of died when guys started changing teams all the time in the 1990s. The fans more than anyone are the ones who keep rivalries alive and well.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Posely would become a legend if he keeps on signing 1 year contracts and each time the team he goes to get the championship.

We hate the Lakers because your grammar and sentence structure sucks. Go back to school.

Do you know what's funny to me? You coming on our board trying to talk trash about the eighties when we just wiped the floor with you last month, adding a 17th gold ball to our trophy case. You trying to call us uneducated when you can't form a simple grammatically correct sentence. That is funny to me.

Now you're excused, junior. Stay on your board untill you get out of elementary school.

To whoever said they will be mad at Posey if he goes to LA...you'd do it too, if it meant $10 million more. I sure know I would. He's not greedy - he's smart.

Well this coming from a Laker fan, I have no feeling what so ever on the Posey matter. In fact there hasn't been much news here in LA on the subject other than they were suppose to meet or either had discussions.

Our hands have kinda been tied because of the Sasha & Ronny situation. I'm not even sure how much of an effect Posey will have on our team. Yeah he's tough, smart and a excellent defensive player but bottom line everybody can't function in the Triangle Offense. Not saying that it's over complicated either but trust me ask any Laker fan and they'll tell you many a players have looked bad in it.

I've seen Posey for many years while he was in the Western Conference and one thing I do know is he will occasionally struggle from time to time and he's only good for about 8 or 9 points on a nightly basis.
But him coming to the squad won't make people here think we've been saved or anything. In reality we would much rather have Artest.

That is in fact a matter of opinion. The choice between Posey and Artest, talent-wise, is not even a choice. But when you throw in the intangibles factor, then it all depends on how dysfunctional a team wants to be :)

True, but I'm confident we have strong enough personalities in Kobe and Phil to some what keep Ron mellow. I don't want to use the word "control", but after so many years of dysfunction in the Shaq-Kobe era your right we really don't need again if they some how end up with him.

Plus Ron is on record here in LA saying he wants to be a Laker and thats a fact. But it's like I tell everybody Ron knows he's at a point in his career where he can't screw up and be a problem.

Its funny how a stupid contract like the one given out to Veal comes back to haunt a team later on when they need money to spend on good players.

Yes, but without Scalabrine we don't get Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett to accept coming to Boston, do we? :D

Right, because if he wasn't here we'd be under the cap. It's not like we have three players earning close to 20 million a year, right. Oh wait!

That is a very good point. The Lakers kind of want to sign Sasha. If they sign Sasha, they won't be able to sign Posey. I don' think the Lakers want to part ways with Sasha.

Absolutely right...if Danny just went with the same exact team next year, the rest of the league would be ready for us...Time to throw a curveball and actually IMPROVE the talent---not just sit back like Miami,San Antonio and Detroit did after winning it all....Sign Maggette, let another team over pay for Posey.

whats with the scal hate? if posey wasnt here this year, who is to say scal couldnt have given us much of what he did? just because before this year we played scal too many minutes and wanted him to be a key guy in the rotation doesnt mean he is worthless. scal could very well be among the better players who didnt step on the floor for a playoff team this postseason.
