All you have to do is read the newspaper. Logic says if he was willing to take the 20% bump then he would be signed by now. Don't you think?

We don't need to fill 3 positions if we let Posey go, we drafted guys that should see time at the SF. (Danny said that Giddens can contribute right away.) We could bring back TA to back up the SG, and Leon will be our defacto 4 Backup, with Scal backing up Leon in emergencies. Posey should have never been playing any 4 anyways.

Like I've said before I'd rather get a grab bag of underappreciated guys signed to short deals(like Posey was last year), than overpay James with a long contract.

I just want to make sure we get a center capable of starting when Perk gets injured. Without this we're screwed.

Unless of course nobody offered him anymore than Boston did. There was some sort of increase in the reported 3 year 12 mil. While that could be MLE money it also could be a 4th year.

But at this point the Spurs are out, the Lakers are chasing Artest, and it hasn't seemed that Cle was all that into it. It would seem to me that if someone had actually offered Posey the full MLE there wouldn't be any waiting around.

Nothing like last offseason with kg and ray, but still exciting. I say posey stays, well I hope he does.

If James stays, i hope it doesn't use the MLE. That way we still can speculate for the rest of the summer.

God, I don't know about anyone else but I'm extremely sick of all this Posey stuff. Honestly, we can live with or without him. I just wanna get this over with so we can stop worrying about it. He is replaceable, but fits well. Either way, we'll be fine.

mostly im sick of bartelstein. i dont buy the idea that if your client wants to give preference to the team he has just played for that its somehow unfair to the institution of free agency not to be cutthroat

Maybe Cleveland will not go to a 4th year for Posey.

I'm with you...either **** sign him already or be done with it. Do I want him back? Yes. Do I want it to hold the team hostage? No. DO IT! DO IT NOW!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Does anyone know if we can s&t Posey if we both realize he doesnt want our offer(hopefully not the case)??
Just throwing it out there if the s&t IS a possibility, is everyones favorite psychopath: Ron Artest. .
Posey and Scal going to CLE(for arguments sake), Varejao to Sacramento and Crazy Ronny coming here. we rip the hearts out of the Lakers and IFFFFFFFFF he had his **** together in the slightest bit hed make us a legitimate 70-win threat. Great D and the ability to create off the bench in relief of Paul mostly but at the 4 when going small and at 2 when big

Not using the MLE. Hence, not for a starting salary >$4 million.

We can Sign and trade him, for more years, so lets say a team doesnt want to do the midlevel for him they want to use it on another guy, we can sign him to a 5 year deal starting at just under 4 million where he gets as much money as he would but over more time at the end of the deal they can just buy him out so he doesnt have to play to get that money. You have to have a team who wants to have him on the cap for 5 years to make it worthwhile though.

Sort of relevant: If we do NOT get Posey, the cheaper options that I liked were Jarvis Hayes and Matt Barnes. Hayes is now off the table having signed with Jersey, so Barnes is my preferred fall back if Posey falls through.
