Moore will be a Celtic........

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Mon Feb 23, 2009 10:11 pm

Tomorrow........Mikki Moore is expected to be a Celtic by this time tomorrow, according to NBA sources. The 7-footer, waived last week by Sacramento, will by all accounts clear waivers Tuesday morning, at which time he will be a free agent. Boston Herald

League sources insist Moore, 33, will pick the Celtics over a number of other high profile suitors. Boston Herald

He's an ok defender, hustles, and can make a mid range J. That sounds exactly like what we need. Plus he's a legit 7 footer! That's a huge plus over Baby or Powe in terms of certain match ups.

He can fit the PJ Brown role pretty well. Remember how he got the contract that was just bought out? It was by nailing wide open mid-range jumpers, a lot of the time off of passes from Jason Kidd. Now I'm not saying Rondo is Jason Kidd, but he can drive and dish with the best of them in the league. If Moore were to be on the court with two of PARK (will it stick?) for 10-15 minutes in the playoffs, I think he could be a very nice addition.

Now onto Marbury...

Ok, he's below average but he's not a fringe player. Powe and Davis are also below average NBA players. Moore can offer everything they can with significantly more length. Also, he is a good matchup against Cleveland.

Cleveland was rumored to have interest, thats at least one 'high profile'

guessing a lot of contending teams at least gave him a call, the Spurs could have used the front court help too

To be honest, I don't see this guy any different than Tony Allen, he still gets too emotional, lose control http://www.nba.com/playerfile/mikki_moo ... stats.html

he plays one good game and 3 bad games
NFL fans are now feeling what NBA fans been living for a while...

Agent says Moore still undecided

Center Mikki Moore's agent said early this evening that his client has yet to make a decision on which team he will play for after he clears waivers tomorrow morning.

Agent Mark Bartelstein said the Celtics were amongst as many as four teams that Moore was mulling over joining. Bartlestein also mentioned Denver, New Orleans, Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix as potential suitors. He also added that Boston was a strong contender and said his client will not have a firm decision until tomorrow after he clears waivers.

"It's definitely something he's interested in," said Bartelstein of the Celtics. "But stuff happens (referring to Denver center Nene's knee injury). We'll wait until the morning to see where we are at."

While the Celtics are a strong contender for Moore's services, it's possible other teams might be able to outbid Boston financially.

Well he couldnt say anything before tomorrow anyway, i expect San Antonio is pushing hard for him and would probably be the other place he could see as a good chance for playing time and a ring.

Wont know til tomorrow i guess

If he reads this site he will want to sign elsewhere, he probably wouldn't feel welcome here. If I were him I would laugh and tell you to go back to your own jobs and be as happy as he is doing his.

Why? What's different between Celtics fans and the fans of any other team?
