Anyone think that our interest in a S&T for Daniels, especially since it seems like we're a lot more interested in one than Indy is, comes from our interest in bringing back Steph? We're over the cap and luxury tax either way, but if we sign Daniels, even if it's for the lower salary of the LLE, that's still adding salary to our situation. If we trade out some pieces (i.e. salary) then we aren't adding much, or anything to our salary. The owners may have a limit on how far they're willing to go into the tax. If we just sign Daniels we may be there. If we S&T him then we can bring in Steph for the min., the raises we can offer him, or the LLE to him instead perhaps. There's also the benefit of having Bird rights with Daniels and getting rid of possible redundancy with TA, but Steph could be related to this too.
