Part of the reason Kobe is number 1 is because he has four rings - equal to that of Shaq and Duncan.

However Shaq was the main reason why he got 3, so I can't understand why he would be above Shaq. However due to Shaq's decline over the last 3yrs then a fair argument can be made.

KG should only be 4th or 5th on the list. I agree that Lebron shouldn't be so high, but its a fan vote not an actual award. Lebron should be last on the list.

I agree. Kobe is a great player, but Shaq and Duncan are the guys who really dominated the decade. Kobe was always Shaq's second fiddle. Duncan was the best player on all of his championship teams. Honestly, it simply comes down to people not really understanding the game of basketball, IMO. Shaq and Duncan weren't just marginally better than Kobe. They were MUCH better.

PS. LeBron is so much better than Kobe it is scary. Would I take Kobe over LeBron for a final shot? Sure. The thing is that LeBron is much more dominant over all of the preceding possessions in a game.

If AI and TMAC being voted as starters weren't reason enough to stop letting fans vote for things....this should send a freakin alarm that fans aren't wise enough to vote on things.

there's no way KG should be behind Nash and lebron. if it werent for the lakers winning last year, KG should be 3rd behind duncan and shaq.

shaq freakin averaged over 40 ppg (or close to it) for an entire nba finals. he carried those lakers teams, and kobe with it.

i was extremely pissed to see KG be last. and he also got last in his two categories he was nominated in; best playoff performance (2004 semis, game 7. he had 32 pts, 21 rebs, 5 blk, 4 stl, 5-6 ast, including numerous clutch plays) and best defensive perfomance (same game, with 2 steals and 2 GW blocks in the last min and a half). KG finished LAST in those categories too.
