The Ass of Shame: February 27, 2010 vs. New Jersey Nets

Post#1 » by Athanacropolis » Sat Feb 27, 2010 11:40 pm

In medieval and Enlightenment-era Germany, unruly students were required to wear a duncecap and sit for a time on the Ass of Shame as a punishment.

Here is a picture of the Ass of Shame:

Think of this as a reverse Victory Cigar. This has been the absolute nadir for an already disappointing season. At least one person from this game needs to wear the hat and take a seat.

I went with Rasheed (surprise, surprise). I'm sorry, there is no way he isn't responsible for the team's bad attitude and lack of unity. He cannot **** rebound and seems not to care about things like "defense" and "winning." He will be on the team another 2 years. I will now gouge my eyeballs out and set them on fire.

lol..... much needed comic relief

I pick team because on any given night (and this was no different) you can roll a die and get 6 legit people to pin it on.

Between Perks pathetic line, Sheeds poor play and Doc's almost nonexistant emotional impact on this team anymore ( his fault or not, it still falls on him as coach)....how do you pick one or the other?

Perk. He contributes absolutely nothing and has the nerve to cost us points?

You need to find a positive out of this loss. Just think, there are some long-suffering Sixers fans (myself included) who would love to lose the record of having the worst basketball team of all time, i.e the 9 & 73ers. This loss has wrecked our day!

I had to go with Perk he made Lopez look like Kareem. I have to be honest I really can't elaborate on that game I am still struggling with the fact that it happened. I keep waiting for the 12-0 run that is going to make everything right and it isn't going to happen. Who the hell are these guys?

I voted for the team... this is just a poor underachieving team right now with WAY more than one entity to blame, and it's now proven that anyone in the league can beat them, and they are not in the elite. What was a 20-4 team early out is just a shadow of itself--in the same damn season... shameful.

I agree its definitely a team problem, for the sakes of the thread/game the other night...Perk got Perk-owned by Lopez.

It would be amazing to see a game when everyone plays well or is healthy. It will probably never happen though.

One thing about most Raptors fans, they jump more ships than any fan base I have ever seen or heard of.
They are the Benedict Arnolds of the NBA.

Nets just had a good game. This is clearly a fluke loss.

About a couple of weeks ago, I totally believed that if this team were healthy, they'd not only win more games, but win the championship. I'm not believing that anymore.

This team hasn't done anything consistently outside of losing to contending teams and playing down to the level of competition with teams lower than them in the standings.
