Webb vs. Carpenter

Post#1 » by diamondbacker » Thu Apr 5, 2007 3:19 am

Webb vs. Carpenter. It's a wash for me, but I think Webby can get better while Carp has hit his ceiling. Also, Webb plays in a very hitter-friendly park in Chase Field, especially with the roof closed, so his numbers are all the more impressive. Also, if you neutralize stats for park, etc. from 06 at Baseball Reference, Webb: 18-8, 2.61, Carpenter: 16-9, 2.88. Who's better now?

Webb.

Actually, Webb has been dominant since he first stepped onto the MLB diamond in 2003. Carpenter didn't breakout until 2004.

Exactly. Also, Webb has played in a hitter's park for his career, and on some not so good teams with shoddy defense.
