Well everyone, hopefully the offseason is treating you all well. We've got the newbies settled in with rosters and prospects and I'm pretty confident that everyone will be active. Right now I'm involved in the slow tedious process of transferring all the league data into the first two pages of this thread. I haven't had much time because of how busy I've been at college but it should all get on here eventually. My apologies to the new guys because this is sort of hindering your trade options (since you can't really view the league on Yahoo!) but like I said, I'll try to get it all up pretty soon. I'm thinking about squaring away the prospect draft order pretty soon, but I'm not quite sure how to handle the ROOK/FA draft and the spots held by the old managers. Since the old guys were inactive, they all had good waiver positions and they're not too far apart from each other. It's an inexact science but I'm thinking maybe it would be fair to take the opposite order of whatever the prospect draft order is for these guys. Let's say in the prospect draft Stud gets the 3rd pick, Mauve gets the 6th pick and Kaz gets the 9th pick (just random examples), then for the ROOK/FA draft Kaz would take over pick #3, Mauve would take pick #4 and Stud would take pick #7. I'm still up in the air about that but it's the best I can think of off the top of my head. We'll deal with that when it becomes necessary though. Anyways, take a couple weeks off and spend some time down in the Bahamas, but don't come to spring training looking like Josh Beckett.
Best wishes,
Your Commissioner.
Edit - January 12th: Tonight at 10 p.m. I will be doing the lottery for the Prospect Draft. Not having a first round pick myself (via the Jimmy Rollins trade) I hope you'll consider me impartial enough to do the number sequence. As usual, I will be using this website: http://www.random.org/sequences and will immediately post the number sequence on the thread. Each person will have an assigned number value that relates to their final finishing place last season. I've given the new guys numbers that relate to the previous managers. We will have a sequence from 1-13 which puts into play Bleeding Green's 1st and 2nd round picks, which he traded away. Bleeding Green will be assigned number 13. After rounds one and two the number 13 will then be eliminated from the draft order and we will have the regular 12 pick rounds. These are the numbers that will be associated with each manager:
1 - Bove310
2 - TyCobb
3 - Setterlund
4 - Benny Blanco
5 - SSK99
6 - sosafan70
7 - Basketball Jesus
8 - Chach
9 - Studcrackers
10 - Kazanovicz
11 - Bigboy1234
12 - MauveAvenger
13 - Bleeding Green
Edit - January 13th: Sorry guys! I'm doing an internship right now that requires me to get up at 6 a.m. and went to bed early and the prospect draft slipped from my mind. It hit me today that I'd forgotten so here's the sequence that just came up:
