He would be a rental for the rest of the season and makes 10 million. I'm not sure what it would take to acquire him but I would also like for Mark to be part of the Braves future.

I'm not interested in him, at all.

As I said previously I like Mark, it just depends on what he's going to command, and I have an idea it's going to be out of our price range. He's certainly going to receive 10 plus and at that type of money there are better options for us.

Yeah I don't dislike him, but I don't want him for the money he'll cost.

Although in the next few years I guess we'll have to face the reality that anyone pitcher we bring in from free agency is going to cost us a fortune.

As much as we need a starter this guy will not come cheap and don't expect him to be re-signed iff we do get him so don't even bother giving up young prospects for his services for a couple of months.

what starters are candidates to be acquired through trade, cause i think we're going to have to trade for another good starter....who knows how consistent james and carlyle are gonna be with their decent pitching recently and davies just isnt cuttin it....

Well we know that James will be .500 at best for us. Carlyle could win 10-12 games for us IMO. Davies is the big question mark and will Smoltz hold up the entire season.

Going by who will be FA's this off season I'm thinking these guys will be available for trades that will not affect our payroll in a big way.

Carlos Silva (Min)
Rodrigo Lopez (Col)
Josh Fogg (Col)
Shawn Chacon (Pit)
Eric Milton (Cin)
Randy Wolf (LAD)

Just to name a few.
