Well deserved.

Now, do we trade him? We have a history of trading Gold Glove winners..lol

I think you are joking here. But absolutely not, I'd trade Markakis at the deadline for a bullpen arm. Smith should be ready by the deadline.

Braves sign R.A. Dickey to a 1 yr $7.5 year deal that includes an $8 million club option with a $500,000 buyout for the 2018 season.

I'll take it. I'd like to see Doug Fister brought in. Or we could use a lefty, trade for Jaime Garcia.

I was joking.

Now, I do support signing Dickey. I expect him to fit in nicely for us.

Braves sign Big Sexy!!

Come to terms with Bartolo Colon on a 1 year/$12.5 million deal.

Coppy said he wanted two starting pitchers in FA, and he's already gotten them before we could blink.

Normally I'd be kinda mad about the high salary for a 43 year old pitcher but considering the fact that there aren't very many good options in FA and that our payroll is so low I don't mind it at all. If we didn't use that money now we weren't going to anyway.

i expect newcomb to take tha last spot.

anyway its obvious that we want older stop gap types and not long term types.

highly doubt we trade for or sign some one for big money

We'll see if he can win the job, but with the recent signings they aren't going to rush anyone. I believe the final spot will be between Wisler and Collmenter, until one of the kids is ready.

I'm guessing no team has increased their average age more from signing 2 free agents. Not great signings, but it gives them another year to develop their younger pitchers without rushing them.

I think people were overrating Inciarte in the first half of the season - his OPS pre All Star game was only .599 and he hit into a lot of double-plays, but he was a different hitter after that - with an .836 OPS - including a .396 OBP. Definitely a keeper at age 26. And with Kemp playing LF, you want someone like him playing CF.

So I guess we will be going with Flowers/Recker at catcher.

Considering the fact that we probably won't contend this upcoming season (I'm predicting around .500), we don't have to sign a catcher this offseason. I'd be fine with Flowers/Wrecking Ball.

Castro batted .210 last season, I'm kinda glad we didn't get him.
