I was gonna say we won this without our best player, Ronald Acuna, but... he carried us for the beginning of the season. He had a .990 OPS and 3.6 WAR while missing half the season. He deserves a lot of the credit for the Braves winning their 4th straight. Oh, and... those 4 years are his 4 years with Atlanta. Thank you Ronny!

A second of honesty here. I never thought in my wildest dreams that Adam Duvall would lead the entire NL in RBI’s. Also, Riley, I’ll admit, never thought he’d be this good. Wow. Joc coming in keeping things loose. Morton the steady hand. Will coming in at the right time.

Go Braves.

Yeah, Duvall's an all or nothing type hitter. I'm not surprised he hit a ton of homers, but the RBI's are startling. But what I really never thought would happen is him playing a pretty decent CF for us.

We might actually have our best setup for the playoffs that we've had in this 4 year period because we have that formula of having 3 starters that can dominate in the playoffs - Morton, Max, and Anderson. And we have the best infield in baseball. It also helps to have a guy like Joc who can come in late in games and get clutch hits and catches.

No doubt. Agree Duvall has always been power but to lead the league in RBI has to take discipline in pitch selection. To get him back was huge and yes on the D from him and our infield is awesome for sure.

Got the right mix of pitchers too with the vet Morton, then a lefty ace in Fried, who has pitched really well 2nd half and the whole year and my fav Ian, I know he’s not the best of the 3 yet but that poise he’s shown in the playoffs is reminiscent of a Maddux approach. He’s very stingy.

We have the ingredients. Ringless since 95, let’s get it.

Braves win again, 5-0. Spencer Strider, their 2020 4th round pick has had a wild season. He started the year in low A, promoted to high A, promoted to AA, promoted to AAA, and pitched yesterday for Atl. That's 5 levels in 1 year. 153 K's in 94 minor league innings. Ok, I gotta stop relying on internet scouting reports on minor leaguers, because the one I read on Strider said his fastball goes from 88 to 92, and the reality is - he's hit 101 this season. Braves must have missed that scouting report, because they picked him in the 4th round of the 2020 draft even though he had TJ surgery in 2019. https://www.talkingchop.com/atlanta-braves-prospects-minor-leagues/2021/10/1/22705011/introducing-atlanta-braves-prospect-spencer-strider-scouting-report-minor-leagues Ultimately, Braves may move him to the pen - likely depends on how he does next season as a starter in the minors.
