I saw on espn.com that david carpenter made 5 million dollars last season so unless i'm incorrect that increases our remaining cap space to 17 million this offseason. anyone think we'll actually spend it?

He could be the #5 we are looking for in the starting rotation. He was supposed to be untouchable.

LOL, you left out the decimal. He made just over 0.5 million dollars. He'll make about 1.1 million in 2015.

I thought it was a very good trade for both teams. Yankees get quality and depth to their pen and really couldn't count on Banuelos. It's the perfect chance for Atlanta to take - being in unofficial rebuild mode - and the Braves needed a 5th starter. The Braves always seem to be able to find bullpen arms, and they'll need to do that to replace 2 good ones. Hopefully, Tyrell Jenkins steps up.

Braves have signed left handed reliever Josh Outman to a one year deal. Outman had a 2.86 ERA with 26 Ks in 28.1 IP with the Yankees & Indians in 2014.

Outman seems like a great pickup for the bullpen, we need someone who can get lefties out. Also, that name, if you're a major league pitcher it doesn't get better than "Outman"
