Ruptured Achilles at his age probably means the end of the line for Grilli. It sucks because he probably won't be able to go out on his own terms.

The season is pretty much over for the Braves too now. Instead of taking advantage of this easy stretch they flat out choke and stay in the rear view mirror of the Cubs and Nats. There's a brutal schedule after the AS break, and we likely won't have Freeman for that either. We'll be sellers at the deadline.

I wouldn't mind trading Maybin for an elite prospect. He was someone we got from the Padres to just balance out the salaries. I get that it'll be difficult to envision us getting a top prospect for him but someone will be desperate enough for a top of the order outfield bat. Remember when the Giants gave Zach Wheeler for Carlos Beltran, that's when Beltran was expiring. Maybin has 2.5 more years left on his deal.

Like you, ATL Boy, I believe the season is basically over.
I'm still hoping for wins but it looks like it's coming to an end before the All-Star break.

Agree, the season is basically over. Only thing I'm looking forward to, is when Fredi is fired.

I'll still watch of course and hope for the best, but expectations have just lead to disappointment lately.

Might as well just keep him out for the season, and give him almost a year to heal before next game action, with a next April return. We'll be out of it by late August anyway.
