We just need the NL to adopt the DH. :) Or get Kemp to lose 25 pounds. Realistically, you're right - he will start in LF next season.

Btw, how fun is it to watch Albies? His swing is so smooth and compact. For a guy listed at 5'8 165 lbs, he's a powerhouse. He's been overshadowed first by Swanson and then by Acuna, but he's a 20 year old phenom showing he's already a quality major leaguer.

Kemp did look slimmer coming into ST and the beginning of the season, unfortunately he put on weigh while be out with 2 separate hamstring injuries. It's going to be pretty hard to move Kemp with $36 mill left over the next two seasons. I can see the Braves keeping both this winter, unless Acuna makes the big league roster after ST, otherwise if Acuna starts in AAA, Markakis could be moved at the deadline next season to make room. If one of Kemp/Markakis is moved, it's Nick with only $11 mill owed next season. Hopefully move him for some bullpen help.

I'll have to look up a stat I saw on twitter about, Kemp. It was something like, since becoming a Brave only Harper and another player have been better than Kemp in a power category. I'll post it when I find it after work. Ruz, I think you are a little wrong on him, yes he needs to shed weight this winter again, and has slowed down in the field, but he more than certainly carries his own with his bat production.

I don't really know what this stat means...but looks like Freddy's at least in good company in a major advanced statistic.

Also I don't want the DH in the NL and wish the AL would get rid of it.

I love the DH. That way I don't have to watch pitchers hit terribly, and I wouldn't have to watch a terrible fielder like Kemp field.

This is what I was afraid of last winter, possibly looking for a new manager this winter. SMH, should have hired Bud Black!

Whatever is best for the team but stability within our coaching staff is needed for us to have any success.

I get that, but it was very dumb by Hart and Coppy to hire Snit over Bud Black. Look how the Rockies are doing. If Snit is fired, we'll be on our 3rd manager in 7 seasons since Bobby retired. That's not stability. It's was beyond dumb to hire Snit over Black, Black would have provided stability, where as Snit was/is and unknown.

I think it can't be understated how much last year's momentum and the overwhelming support Snitker received from players was a part of the decision-making.

Snit's relationship with the front office and with the majority of these young players left Hart/Coppy with little choice. But it's also why they structured the contract in this manner. To give the team an easy out at the right time.

NOTE: We were always gonna be on our third manager since Bobby retired. Whether Snit stayed only 2 months or 14 months. He is a bridge until the absolute perfect candidate comes along.

I suspect even he knows that to be true.

I understand this, Freeman and Markakis are big believers in Snit. But if you make important decisions like who will manage your team, you can't worry about whether a player(s) feelings will get hurt. You hire whomever gives you the best possibility of winning and making the postseason consistently, now and last winter, that person was not Snit.

If the Braves decide this winter not to continue with Snit, internal options Ron Washington and Bo Porter appear to be top candidates.

Yeah, it definitely sounds like you're gonna get your wish.

Atlanta Braves are now ”assessing their managerial situation” for 2018

The 61-year-old has led the Braves to a 67-80 record in 2017 and his future is now in jeopardy once again.

Jon Heyman of FanRag sports is saying that the Braves are “assessing their managerial situation” and it’s possible Snitker won’t return.

We’ve seen a few names already popping up to replace Snitker…Ron Washington, Eddie Perez, Terry Pendleton and Bo Porter.

Charlie Wilmoth of MLB Trade Rumors has reported that “Braves special assistant Bo Porter would have the edge over coach Ron Washington.”

This news comes at a strange part of the road to the future for the Braves as there has been lots of talk about the organization within the front office.
