Well it clearly is not our year, so I'm cool not giving up the farm to go get Adam Dunn or another big name.

I like the addition of salty though.

Big win to open the series vs. Tampa Bay coupled with a Yankees loss. We basically got a month and change to catch them, with plenty of games left with both teams while down 4.5. Stranger things have happened.

Another great pitching matchup tomorrow with Buchholz and Garza. I think we might have a shot if Lester and Buchy keep it up and Beckett can return to form. Lackey and Dice-k haven't been great this year but have been able to keep us in ballgames when they pitch. Still haven't given up on this team.

SI predicted the Red Sox to win the world series this year. We really have a great team this time around.

Let's hope it isn't a jynx but i can't wait for opening day for us tomorrow.

Good thing this game is in Texas because up here mother nature seems to have a sense of humor.

Tell me it's a joke that the sox game is at 4? I swear I've been reading 2:00 PM Eastern all off-season.

I bet pregame is 2 PM EST... lol. NESN those tricky bastehds.

Confirmed Mike Cameron will play right over JD Drew. Francona then says "JD knows this isn't a platoon."

LOL Tito, then WTF is it? Our lineup is lefty heavy so don't act like this is a one time thing. I did see a stat though that says JD batted like .160 versus top-level left handers.

In the win column! 1-6.

Theo Epstein of all people delivers a pre-game ra-ra speech and the boys come out swings and sink the Yanks 9-6 on Opening Day.

Was at the game yesterday. Good to see Jed Lowrie doing his thing. I think he has one a starting gig as of now. Lester and BEckett have been terrific this season. I think Buchholz will eventually come around. Lackey will be what he was last year. But really concerned about Dice-K he looks awful.

The offense will come around. I think if we can limit the damages and maybe finish April at .500 we'll be ok.

Well it's a little later than I thought, but the Red Sox finally got to .500 (20-20) on May 16. I'll take it, considering we did it with a sweep of the Yankees in Yankee stadium. The Bronx Bobmers seem to be in a rut right now so if we can continue the winning ways at home against Baltimore and get a winning streak of 6 or 7 games - it would be ideal. The offense looks like as good as advertised and the pitching from the Big 3 of Lester, Beckett and Buchholz has been solid. Daisuke has been an enigma as usual but I'm a little concerned about Lackey. He's been awful.

Too bad this board is dead. I thought it would be a good place to talk sox when RealGM boards expanded a coupel years ago. Now that the Celtics season is over, I thought this baord would pick up a bit more. This team will make the playoffs, I never doubted that, even at 2-10. The talent is there. Hope to get some other's thoughts on this team.

This team is absolutely rolling right now. Fun to watch. Best record in American League and won 8 in a row. Currently beating Toronto 12-1, so looks like 9 in a row.

I can't believe your team is so ridiculously good? Do you have any weakness anywhere right now. Sooo impressive to dismiss AL teams like that.
Ska needs to make a comeback.
