Sox @ Angels 3 game series

Post#1 » by Celtics_Champs » Sat Apr 11, 2009 2:05 am

Just thought I would start this since the game is beginning soon.

After the sad events with the Angels, it's kind of tough to root against them.

Those new sox uniforms aren't that bad.

Anyone else use MLB.tv online? I can get the NESN video, but not audio feed, hope it isn't like this all the time. Bleh.

Bleh, this team's offense looks horrible so far.

It will come around. Lowrie is not cutting it at the plate.

I dunno, he got horribly screwed last night on the called strike 3, which was easily a couple inches off the plate.

He'll come around soon enough in my opinion, he was really encouraging last year prior to the wrist injury. Papi and Bay really worry me because they're our power guys - yet haven't done **** yet.

Paps looked pretty shaky, but a win is a win. We really needed that one.

A win! Thank god, I was starting to get worried. Good to see Bay with a couple homahs, should give him some confidence

These uniforms have grown on me, I love em.

Two dingers for bay is real nice. I was working, how did Penny fare? Did he look good?

He was mediocre. If he does that all year we'll be ok.

Penny was solid yesterday, can't complain if he can provide that from a 5th starter. I just can't wait to see what Smoltz can bring to this team. If everybody stays healthy I'd be quite worried if I was Wakefield.

I too will be glad when Smoltz gets healthy. I can't wait to see him pitch.

Yeah, Smoltz should be awesome to watch. It's already fun to watch him joke around with the guys on the bench.

As of now, watching Dice then Wake on back-to-back days is veryyyyyyyyyyyy aggravating. I love em both, but man they make you pull your hair out.

I can't stand JD Drew. How do you take three strikes to end a game. Pathetic.

It was pretty obvious that Drew could not pick up anything from Fuentes. Not like the Sox had much of a choice there with just Lowrie being able to hit from the right hand side.

I saw a pretty accurate assessment of his last two ABs somewhere else.

Paraphrased:

"He swings on the first pitch from Shields, who hadn't been able to throw a strike, and then doesn't swing once against a guy that was throwing nothing but strikes the whole night."

I really don't understand Theo's infatuation with the strangest players. No way should he have given this contract to JD, just as he should never have signed Lugo. If you're Jason Bay why would you accept less than what JD is making to play 50 less games than you do.

I've been a really big Drew hater since he came here. VERY UNCLUTCH.... GRANTED he did have that huge slam in the 2007 ALCS, otherwise it seems like in key desperate situations he is trying to draw a walk rather than help us win some games. It's VERY frustrating for me just because I was a HUGE Nixon fan, and he was always hustling and super clutch.
