Reds suck. I'm not happy about this. It does happen over the course of a season and the timing makes it feel worse since they were seemingly close to grabbing control of the division. There is still a lot of baseball to be played and one rough stretch won't kill them.

Best run differential in the NL. Fourth best record in the NL. 2.5 games back in the division. If this maintains that the rest of the season I won't panic even as they go into a winner take all wild card game against the Dodgers. Last year they finished with a .568 winning percentage and they are only a 3 game winning streak from getting to a .569 winning percentage. If the expectation is a 100 win season then panic. If the expectation is winning the division with a shot at the World Series then there is no reason to panic unless something drastic happens like they fall to .500.

The Cubs are playing well. The problem is the Brewers are playing much better than expected. I expect the Cubs to win the division it will just be done down the stretch and not wire to wire like we would have liked. The trade deadline could be interesting. The Cubs probably don't add anything significant, maybe a bullpen arm or a 4th starter type given Darvish's injury. The Brewers could try to add a significant piece or two since they have some nice prospects to move if they want to go that direction.

yeah i don't think we'll be major players at the deadline either, we're pretty set on position players up and down the bench

maybe a few more arms

cubs have averaged 9.8 runs per game in the last five games, all without kris bryant :o

also we're halfway through the season now, and we're on pace for 92 wins

cubs, led by a jon lester homer!, blow it open against the twins again

i'm in minneapolis and it sounds like a bunch of twins fans went down for the weekend, at least they got to see a lot of offense
