not a fan of rebuilding mode (obviously would rather have a good team) but hopefully this reload results in another good run

Holy crap bro! Did not see this level of tear down. Living on West coast is nice due to games ending early, but my cell is blowing up while I’m trying to finish my day with a bunch of WTF texts.

I’m still waiting for Arietta deal I missed to be final blow. Feel like we undersold a bit on Bryant and Baez, but what do I know?

The Lester to Cards is a dagger too.

My kids jerseys and Tshirts have become crazy obsolete quickly.

hendricks and contreras are still here, and i like happ and hoerner too

who knows if they will be here by the time we're back in win-now phase but i'll keep up with the cubs just the same. its not like they've never been bad before. we can get through this karch!

We will. I just am reconciling how I felt 4+ years ago with today. Talent we lost this last year is staggering. We lost a lot of the main players from 2016 and their replacements. Love the guys you mentioned and want to see them be part of the next big moment. I agree if you’re going to rebuild it go all in, but doesn’t mean that it feels good. Though we are eternal optimists.

you get a feel for the monumental change when looking at the contracts
https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/chicago-cubs/payroll/

i don't know how many other teams only have two people who are making more than $10m a year but it can't be very many.

yikes, we've lost ten in a row? wow

guess i have been paying less attention since the selloff so this doesn't hit as hard as the 11 game streak earlier that was the final nail in the coffin

i suppose this is improving our draft spot for next year
