Rizzo is hot right now. It looks like the team is starting to get going. Last year they started hot then cooled headed to the all-star break this year it might be a cool start with getting going right before the break.

Theo is gonna be on the score to discuss the schwarber going to triple A.
He will crush it down there but i think itll help the cubs defense with him being down there for a couple of weeks.

Big road win last night. Did they finally remember to pack the bats for a road trip?

still hanging around, only 1.5 games behind the brewers - and we're above .500, so that's good at least

still hoping that we can get out of this inconsistent funk enough to have a real solid 10 out of 12 run that gets us in the drivers seat

how big of a deal is it that schwarber got sent down? is this to get him looking good for al teams in a trade? are we hoping to get him back on track for the playoff push?

I can't believe that 9th inning. They held on, but it should never have gotten that close.

It looks like Bryant will be back during the Reds series and avoid a DL trip. So far a .500 road trip. It hasn't been pretty, but if they can take 2 out of 3 in Cincy a winning road trip would be a nice change for this team. Last year they seemed to avoid injuries. Schwarber missed the season and Fowler missed a month or so, but I don't recall anyone else missing significant time. Maybe some bullpen arms.

It hasn't been that bad yet this year. Schwarber's performance has been more of a killer than the injuries. Montero getting himself released might end up hurting. I like Caratini and the catcher position shouldn't be an issue, but I'd rather have a solid 3rd catcher around somewhere just in case. I hope that can find add another starter soon.

how has schwarber been doing at iowa? he can catch too

i've probably mentioned it before but considering the new catching development, contreras has been coming along really well

.333/.375/.333 with no extra base hits. The only thing he can catch is a cold.

Give them a few days off? I really think all we can do right now is hope the all-star break gives them a bit of a reboot and they come out strong the 2nd half.

It is a make up game not a series, but they do need to win it. Then a 3 game set with the Pirates to finish off the first half.
