game 2: villanueva vs. wainwright 1:15 pm
game 3: jackson vs. wacha 1:15 pm

go cubs :clap:

getting a few of these early division games would be good

Shark doesn't get the win in another great start, thanks to Veras, but nice win! The iffa coulda shoulda woulda in me is thinking we should be 7-3, but Mooney had a great article on the positives today and that's what I'll dwell on.

lost again, i don't know what to think of jackson at this point - is he there basically to eat up innings?

Pretty much. It's still early, but clearly this signing is not going to work out how Theo and Co. expected it to. It's a shame that Jackson and Villanueva have been trash to start the season. Thankfully Arrieta should be up soon and (presumably) replacing Villanueva, pitching staff might be pretty solid if Shark, Hammel and Wood keep pitching this well.

I think we all knew it was an overpay at the time for a guy who projected as a back of the rotation guy, but it's looking real bad. I wonder if they will look to move him to the pen after Arieta"s up and Rusin strengthens his case for starting in the majors.
