Damn, I don't know who Blevins is, but 32 K's in 23.2 IP and a 0.38 ERA isn't too shabby.

It's not like we gave up Jon Garland or Dontrelle Willis in the past.
Oh wait...

Sisco was the most hilarious one. He was taken in the Rule V draft after Hendry left him unprotected. He couldn't find room on the 40-man for him, but the roster had like 4 backup catchers and Neifi Perez.

How the hell do you promote Samardzija?!? He has flat out sucked. The Cubs farm system has something seriously wrong with them.

The Peoria Cheifs beat the Cougars today (Class A ball), and it looks like Ryno has done a great job as manager. The team is 29-20. Pitching was pretty much dominated by the Cheifs arms of Hernandez and the bullpen.

I wish the Iowa Cubs were closer, that would be very fun to go to because I would know everyone on the roster unlike today.

And I tried to get Sandberg's autograph, but the game was about to start and they told us to go back when I was 5 people behind in line.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Pacific Coast League Office announced today that Matt Craig of the Iowa Cubs and Seth McClung of the Nashville Sounds have been named the PCL's Batter and Pitcher of the Week respectively, for games played between August 6th and 12th. Craig posted an impressive .522 batting average while McClung threw ten scoreless-innings in two appearances during the same span to claim the awards.

Craig also tallied nine RBIs, two home runs, and a .957 slugging-percentage during his award-winning stretch and was just a single short of hitting for the cycle in an August 10th contest against the Oklahoma RedHawks. The Iowa third-baseman is now hitting .417 in ten games in the PCL with ten RBI. A native of Dallas, Texas, Craig is in his sixth season with the Chicago Cubs organization and was a their third-round selection in the 2002 Amateur Draft.

That's what I was thinking. We may see him a little next year if anything.

Return to Chicago Cubs
