Right now Gallagher is a solid #5 starter. But so is Sean Marshall.

So is Chad Gaudin who we also acquired. Great deal!

Gaudin will be in the bullpen for right now but he could move to the rotation if one of our starters goes down.
There are reports the Cubs will send Marshall down to AAA. Why not just DFA Marquis?

From NSBB:
7/6 - 92.79 MPH average fastball
7/1 - 90.57 MPH average fastball
6/26 - 92.14 MPH average fastball
6/20 - 92.01 MPH average fastball
6/14 - 92.04 MPH average fastball
6/8 - 92.74 MPH average fastball
6/2 - 92.75 MPH average fastball
5/28 - 92.16 MPH average fastball
5/23 - 92.30 MPH average fastball
5/17 - 93.25 MPH average fastball

I thought Harden's velocity was down last start against the White Sox? He's speed looks fine to me.

speed looks ok to me too, got down to 90 on the first, but it went back up
doesn't look like a trend, and he's been pretty consistent all year

Seems like thievery. Gallagher at best becomes a 10-13 win #2 or 3, Murton an everyday LF and E-Patt a utility guy.

We get a dominant Ace(when healthy)...and legit 1, 2 punch. Throw in the serviceable Dempster and Lilly and we are in business...just need Sean Marshall to morph and dump Marquis from some c level prospects.

I also love getting Gaudin, sets us up to pawn off Wuertz and Marquis.
