Not much suspense behind Bulls' pick

Postby y_ask_y on Thu Jun 26, 2008 12:27 pm

The online sportsbook Bodog announced that it suspended all wagering on the No. 1 pick because no matter how steep the odds, people wouldn't stop backing Derrick Rose.

That sums up the suspense level in a nutshell. Unless Miami president Pat Riley calls today offering Dwyane Wade for the top pick, the 6-foot-3 Memphis point guard officially will join his hometown team shortly after 6 p.m.

seriously, if paxson really wants to keep it secret, he should let vdn handle all the press conference. unless he is purposely misleading the press, paxson is just really bad at hiding his intention.

He's got the first pick, why does he need to hide his intentions?

Pax should take the odds on Beasley going #1 (which at this point must be astronomical), plunk down a couple million dollars, then take Beasley. Then spend the significant winnings to buy the Heat and combine the teams!

Brilliant!

Listen to Theo's music. He learned many valuable lessons on the Cosby show that he imparts as little magical nuggests of golden magic in your ear drums. I wonder what Speech from Arrested Development is doing today? Headliner I challenge you to horseshoes!

I like your thinking Dawhizz. Pax/Reinsdorf place a bet on Beasley that will net them about 10 million or so, then get an outstanding coaching staff. Westpaul, Harris, Thibo, and a prime time big man coach, what's The Dream up to these days? Or DRob? That'd be awesome. And as an added bonus, I'm sure someone would break Reinsdorf's legs...

Now that's just awesome. Forget about the last part; just bet heavily on Beasley, spread out & launder the bets, and then put the winnings as a retirement hedge should Beasley prove to be the worse pick.

The odds are so bad that bodog has shut down betting on who will be the first pick.
