I am not a fan of this pick in the least. I wonder if this is a guy they PLAN on playing overseas for a few years. That's my guess. I think Fes is a better fit at backup 5 for the Jazz than this kid.

Maybe he'll surprise me and be a factor this year, but, I doubt it. Maybe he'll be a factor after developing overseas as did Kirilenko. I think that's the best case scenario.

Good news is, we didn't really have any holes to fill that were apt to be filled with the 23rd pick. So, we took a flyer on a guy we could stash overseas for a couple of years and see what happens. Hopefully he'll come back a monster.

But, my guess is that this is a bust of a pick that'll never have any impact on the Jazz.

I don't follow college ball that much. Does anyone see Koufos getting any minutes next year?

Koufos will play.

He's far more polished then Fes, he grew up in the US playing US basketball, he actually has skills that are ready to go into the NBA right this second, he's right now the best shot blocker on the Jazz, and he still has potential.

obviously more finesse than power, but looks like he would help plug the lane.

Blazers are having by far the best draft.

I don't know how anyone else feels, but it gets annoying at times how the jazz wait for players to develop while other players who have no business being on the court get playing time (jaron collins). I say if he has skill and provides at least some of a defensive presence, let him play.

Koufos, even at 19, is pretty solid. Yes, right now he has'nt showed a lot of stamina, otherwise we'd talk about a first overall pick....

I like the Koufos pick. He has a fairly polished offensive game and, as Bat said, is a hell of a lot better option than Jarron Collins.

He's not a better shot blocker then AK, but he is the best big man shot blocker we have, and he should actually help AK out a lot.

I'm not that impressed by Portland, their PG play is still going to be a question mark, Bayless is good, but he isn't going to do anything that impressive in his first couple of years. They're still way too young.

KOC compared him to memo with regard to his skill set. In watching him, he looks like memo with defense and a good post up game. If he has a solid basketball IQ, I think that he could get playing time this year.
