OT- Pacerfan

Post#1 » by LLcoleJ » Mon Jan 14, 2008 10:58 pm

I am not sure if anyone here knows pacerfan. He was a great mod and poster for RealGM and has been with RealGM since the begining.

I didnt know him personally, but he was a poster I always enjoyed reading and took the time to find his posts when it involves Pacer Basketball.

He lossed his battle with cancer last night and he will be missed. In the wake of all of us worrying about Bynums knee, we should take some time to remember what is really important.

A sad day indeed and my heart goes out to pacerfans friends and family.

RIP

I really do like their forum over there and it's the only other board I spend much time on. I get a similar brotherhood vibe over there and I'm sure Pacerfan was the historical founder of that.

Respect.

Psalm 116
1 I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

2 Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

3 The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

4 Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

5 The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

6 The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

7 Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

8 For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

9 that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.

10 I believed; therefore I said,
"I am greatly afflicted."

11 And in my dismay I said,
"All men are liars."

12 How can I repay the LORD
for all his goodness to me?

13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the LORD.

14 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD
in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his saints.

16 O LORD, truly I am your servant;
I am your servant, the son of your maidservant ;
you have freed me from my chains.

17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you
and call on the name of the LORD.

18 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD
in the presence of all his people,

19 in the courts of the house of the LORD

I remember the man post on our board a while back during the JO trade rumors time. He was pretty patient and wrote pretty informative things about their franchise and seemed like a very genuinely kind and passionate fan who loves the game.

A great loss indeed. RIP pacersfan.

Wow this is horrible, very tragic. I don't recal ever seeing him post but he sounded like a great guy and I'm very sad to hear what happened. It sounds like RealGM lost a great contributing member.

Rest in Peace.

Oh God...I didn't know the guy but my condolences to him and his family. I'm shocked and disappointed at this news as this is the first time this has happened on this board at least as long as I have been here...wow.

Rest In Peace Pacerfan.

I use to read his post too, was always very informative. Really put things in prospective, basketball is just a game you can always play.

But life is only played once.............................pacerfan will be missed here on Real GM.
