He's 7'1 and about 210 with a 7'8.5 wingspan.

You don't know what your talking about. He's actually pretty skilled, he just needs to get stronger and play against better competition.

It would be best to take this with a grain of salt as the Hoop Summit can be a very odd place to evaluate talent, but I did get a chance to watch Ajinca fairly extensively.

I'll put it this way - he's skinny. Really skinny. Maybe the skinniest prospect I've ever scouted. So skinny it really hurts his mobility, in a Shawn Bradley sort of way.

I'm not certain if he has a poor feel for the game, or if he just needs to add about 40 pounds of bulk. His skill level isn't bad at all, but he really had trouble translating it into anything useful when I watched him.

Batum on the other hand... :o

His potential is through the roof.

He's got a 7'9 wingspan with no telling what freakish reach.

He can actually put the ball on the floor. There is a clip of him doing the VC elbow in the rim dunk on a break.

But in order for him ever to live up to his potential he has to put on an inordinate amount of weight. Im talking 40 pounds.

That sounds impossible but believe it or not that's exactly how much Dwight Howard and Josh Smith individually put on since leaving high school.

Josh Smith was once listed at 195 pounds in HS. Now he's a solid 235.
Dwight Howard was a wiry 225. Now he's a man beast at 265.

If Alexis Ajinca got to 240 pounds, this kid's ceiling is through the freaking roof. But right now he looks like Kevin Durant could bench twice as much as he does.

Josh Smith was around 220, and Howard was like 240.......

Dwight Howard

Josh Smith

It can be done.

35 pounds and 40 pounds respectively

Would you think this kid would bulk up to 265?

How about this one to 235?

Ajinca is extremely skilled and tall. He is a bit like a very poor man's KG. He has talent through the roof, but needs time to bulk up and grow as a player. He is not yet a good player, but he has great skills. He would make a huge mistake declaring for this years draft.

This guy has some real talent, and elite athlecism. But, he needs to add 40+ pounds and over the past season or two has shown an inability to do such.

I would say he is bonkers if he declares anytime before 2010.

Oh definitely, but Dwight is a rare case, I think that 265 is bull, he's well over 280 :D

Josh Smith is a good example though.
