As opposed to earlier? But he is giving them some good minutes in the last few games. I hope he keeps it up.

I wish there was an "over your head" icon on this thing. You missed the reference.

He's starting to get some things right, but Im not ready to say that his "blossoming" is fully underway. The signs are there, though.

I predict 8 games of regular productive playing time before he starts racking up the DNPs for no apparent reason.

Amir has been great the past few games and he's only going to get better...

I see him blossoming into a key player off the bench for us in a big playoff run. He brings energy. He's the new Max!

I had honestly begun to lose hope in the kid but the past few games he's shown us good things.

He'd still be my 5th bigman come the playoffs. I'd love to make a move to bring in a wily vet to play the 4th big man role. I'm still sweet on Kurt Thomas...

I really like the Sheed/Amir frontcourt. Sheed seems to really thrive with it too. I hope we use it tonite

Anybody else think hes just getting playing time cuz of webber being passed up. PR bull

I hope it stays this way. I wouldn't be surprised though if a week from now hes back to getting meaningless min at the end of blowouts.

It's not like hes hurting the team by being out there, unlike others. Play the man.

Seattle still see Thomas in their long term future at the moment.

Amir playing makes us a better team. He picks up some fouls, but its not like we need him to stay out of foul trouble. And when he makes silly turnovers, its not like he is the only who does those (Richard Hamilton #32).
He's also taking a the minutes away from Dyess and Max who will be getting tired from the excessive minutes later in the season.

There is a difference between long term future and not needing to move him because he provides cap relief and an inside player they needed. No 34-35 year old center is in any teams long term plans.

That and they have Swift, Petro, Sene, Wilcox and Collison needing PT to develop. I think any statement made indication they might keep him is just sending a message that they're not looking to give him away.

Teams are probably coming at this with nothing offers - say second rounders and non-expirings - and they could just as easily keep him to mentor their youngsters for the remainder of the season and then let him walk as being more valuable than a mid-second rounder.

I've read something along those lines from a Seattle newspaper.

You can see the confidence in this guy and it helps that every Pistons fan is rooting for you to (slowly) become a vital part of the rotation.

Joe Dumars had a nice talk with Flip, telling him to use Afflalo and Amir instead of Herrmann and Brezec.

I wonder if he had the same talk earlier.

"Flip I'm trading Nazr play Herrmann and Brezec."
