If this is true Popovich can go **** himself in terms of complaining about the need for a trade committee and the Gasol trade being unbalanced. This is yet another BS fire sale trade. Makes me sick to see/hear the Spurs get better via some BS like this. I've hated them ever since they got Duncan for a good number of reasons.

Edit: Spelling

ddb, works for the spurs, right? So, I guess this could definitely be true..

A great trade for the spurs if it goes through obviously!

The rich get richer.

What an amazing trade season if this goes down. About a third of the teams the teams are throwing in the towel and another third are gearing up for a title run. When will the Clips realize they are the of the former type and give up Cassell? Maybe they still have trade aspirations, but if these last few trades are any indication, they won't be getting much back.

Good! Let them all kill each other out there, we only have to play one of them. It's a perfect set-up for the survivor to be softened up considerably and a potential let down after feeling a sense of accomplishment after surviving the west. Of course we need to take care of business in the east.

Wow, this is going to be the best, most intense NBA playoffs in years. So many top teams loaded with talent. And the deadline hasn't even passed yet, right? This will make the Spurs the clear Western favorite again, IMO, if anyone had placed the Lakers et. al. above. Thanks for the head's up, ddb.

If this deal happens the Spurs become the favorite to win it all. I really hope this doesn't go down. Of all the teams in the NBA that have a chance to win it all, I hate the Spurs the most. Popovich was a bitch after the Gasol trade and now he might get Artest for nothing.

Not to sound like a big shot, but give me 15 minutes and I can confirm it.

I took your comment somewhat at face value. After the Gasol trade, nothing is really going to be much of a surprise.

SA could be much improved with Artest. Just think how it's going to be for opposing scorers. First you try to get to the rim with Bruce Bowen or Ron Ron in your jock, then your reward is Tim Duncan!

This trade has 'stop Kobe' written all over it.
