Very exciting, I hope there are no chemistry issues, and I certainly don't expect any. The bench which I was slightly worried about seems to be in great shape.

Well Rondo will start and Tony Allen will be the backup Sg while House will lose minutes more than anyone. TA seems to be back to where he was last year physically, he's playing lockdown D and getting to the line alot considering his limited minutes. Its been a few years but people forget TA was a starter down the stretch of his rookie year on a division winning team, whenever he has been healthy he has proven that he is a legit starting SG so thats a nice weapon off the bench. The rotation now looks like this

Rondo/Cassell/House
R. Allen/T. Allen/House
Pierce/Posey/T. Allen
Garnett/Davis/Powe
Perkins/Brown/Pollard

That is a VERY balanced team and will be scary in the playoffs.

I was thinking maybe that Elgin Baylor (former Laker that lost to the Celtics 8 times in the finals i believe) didnt want to waive Cassell because he knew he would end up going to the Celtics and might help them win another championship... oh well

How dare that Sam Cassell, he outta be ashamed for wanting to win a championship. It's mind boggling how a guy could to do anything but go through the motions out on the court and collect his paycheck for giving the minimum effort. You really have to admire guys like Zach Randolph, Eddy Curry, Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, Kwame Brown, etc for keepin it real and not giving a **** about superficial things such as trophies and rings.

Sam I Am should sign with a team that could really use a PG and not have a realistic shot at winning a championship rather than the team with the best record in the league since, you know, that makes a **** load of sense. I find it absolutely ridiculous that a guy with one ring already would actually care enough about winning another. Honestly, I'm appalled.

So Sam, if you're reading this...do the smart thing and sign with one of the teams out west battling to make it into the playoffs so you can have the privilege of getting swept by the Lakers. That would be so much more convenient than actually advancing to the next round and sacrificing a month of your offseason to keep playing.

First round exits FTW, championships are for losers.

Now you get another postup player. Cassell really fills that need honestly. Most of the big men on the celts are perimeter shooters.

i can see why cassel would do this.. but at the same time i cant help but loose respect for the guy. maybe if he had been bought out in the beginning of the season and signed with the celts id understand but rite now hes just a cling on to all the hard work the celtics have done so far

Sam Cassell isn't a ring chaser for two reasons. The first being that he will significantly help this team. He's not just gonna sit on the bench the whole time. The second being that he's already won a ring. I don't think you can be called a ring chaser if you've already got one.

Did anyone give Damon Stoudamire crap for going to the Spurs? Shouldn't he be considered a "ring chaser" too then? And yeah, this marks the first time in sports history that a player signs with a team because they want to win a championship.

my only concern with Cassell is his injury history. If he's healthy in the playoffs we could be quite formidable.
