Cleveland gave us many more problems than Detroit

Post#1 » by P2 » Wed May 21, 2008 5:47 am

1. LeBron. They don't have that dominate player who does literally everything, and Pierce doesn't need to put so much focus on defense. Also, after guarding LeBron for 7 games, PP probably breathes a big sigh of relief with now having to guard Prince.

2. Big Z. He was just too big and got his shots off all day. Even Perk couldn't guard him. It will be easier with Detroit's bigs. However, they can also shoot it from outside.

3. Their defense was much better than Detroit's. They really took away every opportunity from Ray, and had a pretty nice rotation. I think that this is what kept them in the series, and Detroit, as it looks right now, does not have that.

yes, its true. the cavs D was much tougher on the Cs than the piston's D is.

although having to go through cleveland was a very trying ordeal, it was probably a great thing for the Cs. it makes the pistons defense seem like the nuggets in comparison. we can get any shot we want against them.

and when they are offense, they dont have anyone who requires as much attention as Lebron. we can single cover everyone.

We looked good after Game 1 against CLE.

As Winston Wolf would say, it probably is not a great time to start sucking each others.....

One game.
Let's see the next game and more importantly the first game at The Palace.

It's only been one game but I can tell you my initial thoughts about this series after watching game one:

The first thing I said to my buddy tonight during the game was, "You have no idea how good it is to not be facing Lebron anymore." This was their first game in a week but I'm much happier to be facing the superstarless Pistons with their above average D than Lebron, a bunch of scrubs and that suffocating D the Cavs played a majority of the series.

The Pistons are a much better team than the Cavs but we might just match up better with them for the reasons mentioned above, plus Chauncey isn't anywhere near 100%.

GO CELTICS!

Don't let Detroit fool us. We are not out of woods yet.

Exactly. We win one in Motown, I start to relax.

The Pistons have GOOD scorers at every position. There will be stretches where they look like a tough matchup indeed.

because the Cavs have a very tall big men rotation and a lot of shooters.

One Game! ----we lose on Thursday and this board becomes suicidal....Detroit lost game 1 at home against Philly...only to win in 6 games.

I refuse to count my unhatched chickens right now after two 7 games series.

^ What he said.

I agree that the matchups are better for us in this series.

But beware of Thursday.

Detroit wins Thursday, and...

I hope that we are not satisfied at all right now, not even a tiny bit.

Thursday might be the most important game of the series.

One game, as many have said. The Cs still have a long way to go. This next game is oh so important, because it will force them to need a win on the road.

Detroit doesn't have LeBron James. Of course they will be easier to beat. Big Z looks like he's 10 feet tall. Holly crap. He man handled Perk pretty much in offensive rebounds.

On the other hand, Detroit is a much better, smarter team than Cleveland. This win 1 means a lot but not much just YET.

There is no question they are a better team than Detroit.

Let's not get overconfident. Pistons did NOT play well in Game 1.
