Thibs to interview with Sixers (the official Tom T thread?)

Post#1 » by Avalanche » Tue May 19, 2009 9:09 am

Per the Wiretap, the Sixers are the first of what you would think would be many teams interviewing our defensive guru.

How likely do you think it is we lose him, and what effect would that have on our team next season?

The sixers with a healthy Brand, young guys developing and Tom coaching could be very dangerous

I have a felling Philly will give him a chance...also their team is similar position wise to Boston:

Perk=Dalambert
KG=Brand
Iguodala=Pierce
Rondo=Miller

They lack good sg and they are the worst 3pt shooting team in nba.

Williams
Iguodala/Green
Young
Brand/Speights/Smith
Dalmbert/Evans

Sure a team a lot of coaches looking for a job would want!!!

I still think that Thibodeau is a better assistant than head coach. Unfortunately he deserves a chance to prove me wrong.

IMO he's the best candidate they're interviewing.

It will be interesting to see how the Celtics perform without him (bring back Tony Brown?) but probably not beneficial for the team.

Doc was on WEEI today and said that he is hoping Tom T gets the job. Paraphrasing Doc's words, "He's not a good guy, He's a GREAT guy"

I don't want to see Tommy T go, but I would definitely understand if he did.

I'd rather him not be in our division.

It would be a great move for Philly to hire him. Although I'm happy with D'Antoni, I really wish the Knicks had given Tom a chance instead.

When you're already maybe the best assistant in the league, it's hard to be a better head coach than that. That said, I don't think he'd be a great head coach, but he could at least provide a lot to a young team in the long run when they get a better head coach.
